      Function

      • Are you an experienced engineer savvy about the component supplier market? Do you have a broad network in the electronics industry and the skills to distill supplier roadmaps towards an R&D environment? As a member of the Global Procurement team, you will take the ownership to ensure the right technology is embedded in BARCO designs to improve business performance and value.
      • You will be accountable for the global technical coordination of purchased components and technologies, the management of the component basket teams and the technical relationship with component manufacturers.

      Key Responsibilities

      • You maintain relations in the industry with world class suppliers in order to ensure proper technology selection in BARCO.
      • You are accountable for global selection and lifecycle management of a component technology such as :
        • Fluid components ; fittings, tubes, pumps, purifiers, valves
        • Screws, Fasteners & Adhesives, such bolts, rivets, screws, inserts, pins, silicones, glues, lubricants & chemicals
        • Electromechanical and optical components such as motors, fans and passive optics.
      • You develop and monitor implementation of the component management strategy by component group for BARCO R&D worldwide
      • You support the cost & value engineers and procurement team towards cost effective products
      • You detect and introduce new technologies, trends and new components to our R&D community worldwide
      • You are the technical sparring partner of Global Procurement in supplier meetings.


      Qualifications

      • Ideally you have 3 years of Component engineering experience in a design environment or equivalent. Experiences or eagerness in design Engineering is a plus.
      • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering science or equal by experience
      • You are a service-oriented team player
      • You can work independently
      • You are fluent in English
      • You are meticulous, analysis minded, result driven, customer oriented, innovative, enthusiastic and proactive
      • You can build and maintain relations and you are skilled in communication and influencing.
