      Job summary

      We are seeking to appoint to the above post within the Children's Care Group which provides CAMHS services in Rotherham, Doncaster and North Lincolnshire. The Trust also provides comprehensive mental health services to these areas through three geographically based Care Groups.

      This is an exciting time to join RdaSH and you will be able to influence and shape our continuous improvement. We are looking for dynamic and flexible candidates with a good understanding of the role of the consultant and the ability to work in an appropriately boundaried way whilst displaying clear clinical leadership and support to the MDT.

      This post is based on the main Doncaster site which is very pleasant and boasts ample free parking. The team has 43 wte staff and has a dedicated ADHD diagnostic and treatment team. The Consultant will have approximately 2-3 patient related contacts per clinical session. These may include reviews, therapeutic treatment, multiagency meetings, CPA reviews, consultations with other clinicians and clinical supervision regarding specific patients. The Trust has introduced a hybrid working policy , so conducting some appointments and meetings remotely is now usual practice.

      Main duties of the job

      The sessions of Programmed Activity for this as a full time post is agreed to include 2.5 sessions of Supporting Programmed Activities (SPAs), enabling the post holders to pursue CPD, management, teaching or research interests. The Trust has generous study leave provisions (of 10 days and £1750 per Consultant Psychiatrist per annum) in addition to a weekly educational programme, internal CPD, RCPsych Peer Groups, Trust training and an active Research Department. Assistance with relocation is available in certain circumstances. Part time appointees will attract a proportionate share of the above and all posts will be subject to regular job planning review.

      Applicants must be on the GMC Specialist Register (Child and Adolescent Psychiatry) or a trainee within 6 months of completing their CCT. Section 12 (2) MHA 1983 approval and Approved Clinician status are also essential to the role.
