      POSITION: Continuous Improvement Facilitator, 2026-2027

      LOCATION: Abner Creek Academy and Berry Shoals Elementary

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      • M.A or other graduate degree in education and/or education leadership
      • At least five years of successful teaching experience working in or with elementary

      REPORTS TO: Building Administrators, Director of Federal and Gifted Programs

      GENERAL SUMMARY:

      The Continuous Improvement Coach will work intensively with the school leadership teams, teachers, PLCs, and place an emphasis on supporting growth among the students with disabilities subgroup, by promoting and facilitating continuous improvement processes and tools both within the classroom, as well as, with the school as a whole. The Continuous Improvement Facilitator will be assigned to work with two schools to include Byrnes Freshman Academy and D.R. Hill. The coach will provide support to teachers and administrators in utilizing research-based resources, Continuous Improvement tools and processes, as well as, data to improve student outcomes.

      PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Plan and facilitate Continuous Improvement Process - with emphasis on lowest performing subgroup (students with disabilities)
      • Provide content specific professional development at building level and individual coaching
      • Facilitate recurring Academic Collaborations (PLC’s)
      • Share key learnings with district and building administration
      • Work directly with school leadership and staff to monitor the implementation of Continuous Improvement protocol
      • Work with school leadership to develop short and long term action plans to improve teacher and student performance informed by trends in data
      • Use data systems to measure and monitor progress and efficacy of implemented strategies
      • Report out on student growth; teacher growth: gathered through PDSA (Plan, Do, Study, Act) cycles
      • Regular meetings with SAM team
      • Individual coaching sessions with teachers to improve their confidence with CI protocol
      • Plan strategy sessions with school leadership to develop goals and action plans for improving student performance
      • Data collection and analysis in improving instruction and student learning
      • Conduct observations of teachers to engage in reflective dialogue on using tools and methods
      • Provide professional development to staff on Continuous Improvement processes and tools

      KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

      • Experience leading a team using data to drive change (preferred)
      • Trained in Continuous Improvement Strategies such as Six Sigma, etc. (preferred)
      • Commitment to Continuous Improvement, science, outcome-based accountability, data-driven decision-making, and continuous adult learning as drivers of improved student outcomes
      • Commitment to work collaboratively with school principal(s) and to share in accountability for student-level outcomes
      • Strong analytical skills, including facility inthe manipulation of quantitative data
      • Strong interpersonal skills to navigate diverse cultural environments
      • Ability to systematically manage a wide range of priorities in time-constrained contexts
      • Ability to work effectively with School and District Leadership
      • Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, and coach educators

      WORKING CONDITIONS:

      Conducts duties in a classroom environment with no significant exposure to environmental conditions. Requires the ability to work under a degree of stress related to duties that require constant attention and working with staff. Physical demands are limited to classroom work requiring lifting or moving items up to 25 pounds. Occasional local travel is required; occasional overnight travel is required. The job requires operating standard office equipment.

      Salary: Teacher Salary Schedule (190 days)
