Job Description

- Prepares and cooks meals for patients, staff, and visitors
- Maintaining a clean and sanitized kitchen
- Sometimes assisting with tray assembly and delivery
- General knowledge of quantity of food preparation and portioned serving
- Ability to read, understand, and follow recipes, diet orders, and work assignments
- Able to work flexible hours, such as during emergency situations
- Must be patient and tolerant towards staff, patients, and family members
- 1 year food service experience in a healthcare setting
- Preferred education in therapeutic diets, not required
- Read, write and speak English
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
Cook
Job Summary:
This is a on-site Cook role located in Shelbyville, IN. The Cook prepares food in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, with established policies and procedures and assuring patient safety. May be directed by the Culinary Operations Manager and Director of Culinary Operations.
