      Full-Time and Permanent; 7.5 Hours/Day; 252 Days/Year; 12 Months/Year DEFINITION This position coordinates the instructional, support, and operational functions of the Camp Young location; manages the onsite staff, program, and physical resources; and performs related administrative duties as required or assigned. SUPERVISION Duties are performed under the general supervision of the Senior Director of Career and Technical Education. Work is reviewed in terms of effectiveness and efficiency of operations and compatibility with program goals and plans in assigned areas of responsibility. Direct supervision is exercised over teachers, classified, and other support staff assigned to Camp Young. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE CLASS (Performs a variety of duties itemized below.) Plans, develops, organizes, supervises, and evaluates all affiliated instructional programs, activities, and events. Oversees externally sponsored activities held on the site. Develops a master schedule, or coordinates off-site activities, to implement goals of the educational program to which assigned with optimum use of facilities and staff. Performs division wide administrative duties as required or assigned. Supervises and participates in the preparation of a variety of reports, forms, and surveys and in the maintenance of inventory and other records. Select, supervise, and provide leadership for all related staff. Provides continuing evaluation of faculty and support staff and provides counsel on instructional and administrative matters. Develops and implements staff development, in-services, and training programs. Provides leadership and oversees the selection and procurement of instructional and operational supplies, materials, special equipment, and technology for Camp Young. Reports to the appropriate resources regarding the program/site’s needs with respect to personnel, curriculum, equipment, supplies, grounds, and facilities. Assists with the preparation and management of annual budget for the operation of Camp Young. Supervises the maintenance of expenditures and related financial and budgetary controls. Develops and maintains an active relationship with business partners and the community; collaborates with internal and external stakeholders in support of program goals. Enforces standards of discipline, health, safety, and general welfare of students, staff, and visitors to the site. Directs, oversees, or performs a variety of administrative responsibilities, including supervision of student transportation and safety, maintenance of buildings, grounds, and facilities, operations, and after/off hours use of facilities by external organizations. Performs other duties as assigned. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of modern public education in general and of the program/site to which assigned, and an ability to apply them to the needs of the school/program. Knowledge of current curriculum and instructional practices and public school administration and organization. Thorough knowledge of school administrative practices and procedures (operations and instructional). Strong background with knowledge and experience within the discipline of (Environmental & Earth) Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (E-STEM). Ability to disaggregate and analyze data. Ability for vision planning and achieving program goals and objectives. Comprehensive knowledge of safety requirements, school law, and legal issues related to assignment. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate instruction, support services, student activities and school-community relations programs, including significant business and governmental relations. Ability to work with diverse populations, including students, staff, administrators, the business community, and the general public. Ability to plan, supervise, and evaluate the work of support staff. Ability to utilize a variety of technology. Strong knowledge of varied platforms, programs, software, and equipment related to Camp Young. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Master’s degree with an endorsement in school administration, supervision, or educational leadership plus some related experience on the elementary or secondary levels. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION Postgraduate Professional License with endorsements in elementary education or closely related level or field. Administration and supervision endorsement required. PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES Overall, work generally confined to the Camp E. W. Young site. Work requires normal physical attributes associated with a camp location/site. Includes, but not limited to, walking, standing, sitting, operating program related equipment and technology, lifting, moving, and carrying related program items, etc. HAZARDS Work involves exposure to normal, everyday risks associated with operating/supervising an education program within the natural environment of Camp Young. Work may involve exposure to student body fluids. UNUSUAL DEMANDS Work mostly includes assignments and activities on the Camp Young site. May also include schools, central administration, centers, the community, and require one to have or arrange for own transportation. Some assignments are subject to deadlines and inherent in tailoring and delivering programs to meet the needs of many diverse groups. Work is subject to normal interruption and flexible adjustments. Work may involve exposure to various elements of nature as this location entails significant outdoor learning spaces. Some assignments involve night and weekend activities. Some potential for work related travel.
