Job Description

- Interfacing with business and industry to identify job openings;
- Providing career development counseling to students and prospective students;
- Educating students with regard to developing resumes and cover letters;
- Coaching students on how to successfully prepare for job interviews;
- Coordinating job fair activities;
- Promoting program services and coordinating student activities for the campus community;
- Coordinating with faculty members to assist student in securing employment;
- Developing and maintaining an employment database;
- Participating in community events and volunteer opportunities;
- Serving as the key student affairs staff member responsible for capturing and recording placement data;
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university *and* two (2) years of experience in employment services;
- Planning and evaluating office procedures and program processes;
- Experience in staff interviewing and selection;
- Experience in instructing and/or counseling students.
- Successful candidate must have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skill in order to serve a diverse student population.
- Excellent computer skills are required, to include Microsoft Office Suite experience.
- Experience working in a two-year technical or community college, with an emphasis on providing excellent student programming on a commuter campus;
- Proficiency in using BANNER student information software program;
- An interest and proficiency in using college data to drive planning and decision making;
- A passion for working with adult learners and first generation college students.
- Experience coordinating events such as: job fairs, expos, student workshops.

Under the general supervision of the Director of Student Navigation, the Coordinator of Career Services is responsible for:

Physical Demands
The employee occasionally lifts or moves objects of a light to medium weight. Work is typically performed in an office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, or walking in various settings. The employee must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Full range of hand and finger motion may be utilized for data entry purposes.Salary/Benefits
Salary is commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package. Positions are contingent upon funding.Application Deadline
