      Corporate Underwriting Analyst (Personal Lines Auto)

      Temporary Full-Time

      Term Length – 1 year

      Location: This position can be located at Regina Head Office.

      Pay Range: $75,691.00 - $95,521.00

      Closes April 1, 2026

      Work Arrangement: This role is eligible for hybrid work – this means you’ll have the flexibility of working from home and in the office (listed above), on a scheduled rotation once probation requirements have been met. Until then, the successful incumbent will be expected to work on-site, full-time.

      In this role the successful candidate will provide technical expertise and training to underwriters and management on commercial or personal insurance. You will play a key role in coaching and mentoring individuals and teams to increase their level of performance to support the growth, profitability, retention of the product line and consistency of all related underwriting guidelines. In this role you will support and mentor UW teams through referral functions. You will work collaboratively with the Corporate Underwriting Specialist and Product Management Teams to provide operational support for improvement initiatives.

      Key Accountabilities

      Underwriting Operational Support

      • Provides direction and underwriting support to branches across all Canadian jurisdictions by coaching and mentoring staff, provides clarification of underwriting process, coverage, endorsements, wordings, and provides solution-oriented responses to customer referrals.

      • Collaborate with underwriting management and underwriters seeking corporate consultation on rules and processes, including discussing recommended changes.

      • Perform risk analysis negotiating and authorizing the acceptance of risk.

      • Collaborate with underwriters seeking corporate consultation on files that may be complex, contain new or unusual exposures or require creative solutions.

      • Review referrals and work to ensure an educational and empowering experience for internal staff.

      • Builds and fosters relationships with the Underwriting teams.

      • Executes monthly reconciliation of the CEO-CFO certification reports and ensures regional sign off as set out in the framework requirements.

      Underwriting Training

      • Supports content development, in conjunction with Training Owner and HR, for all new training programs and courses identified under the training framework.

      • Develops, reviews and updates underwriting resource materials and manuals.

      • Identifies training needs and supports development, design and delivery of training, including technical guidance regarding products, systems, and procedures.

      • Provides technical assistance and training to ensure consistency in the implementation of change, consistent application of corporate guidelines, quality, and timely service, as well as effective control of insurance risks.

      • Develops team members and facilitate sessions for knowledge sharing and best practices.

      • Responsible for post-training execution activities e.g., quality assurance, monitoring and feedback, provide coaching opportunities in partnership with leaders.

      • Provides expertise on training material development to collect and share feedback and reinforce audit and large loss reviews/findings with regional underwriting teams.

      • Facilitates training sessions for Underwriters and stakeholders when required.

      Corporate Underwriting Improvement

      • Assists the Corporate Underwriting Specialist in obtaining and providing reporting and analysis on segment performance.

      • Requests and synthesis reports created by Corporate Analytics and business intelligence to support the implementation of industry best practices and the continuous improvement of underwriting standards, procedures, and guidelines.

      • Monitors and reviews current reports and collaborates with reporting and analytics to improve reporting and analytical tools.

      • Assists the Corporate Underwriting specialist in the development of underwriting audit programs and plans for corporate underwriting.

      • Leads the execution of the underwriting audit plan for corporate underwriting (including broker audits).

      • Provide clear, accurate and insightful interpretation of individual audit results to Corporate Underwriting Specialists for the QA reports.

      • Validate outcomes of the large loss review process in line with the framework requirements.

      • Participates in guideline development as directed by the Corporate Underwriting Specialists.

      • Collaborates with cross functional teams (commercial, personal, product management, etc.) to enhance efficiencies for corporate underwriting programs.

      • Advanced knowledge of the applicable policy wordings, endorsements, products, philosophies, risk information sources along with underwriting guidelines, and procedures, within applicable product line.

      • Advanced knowledge of the applicable regulatory environment.

      • Advanced ability to interpret and apply jurisdictional laws and regulations.

      • Advanced knowledge of underwriting systems and other related systems.

      • Advanced ability to facilitate training activities.

      • Proficient ability to write clearly, concisely and targeted to the audience.

      • Proficient knowledge of pricing and individualized rating models.

      • Proficient knowledge of adult education principles.

      EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS

      • Four-year degree from an accredited post-secondary education institution in a relevant field of study such as Business, or defined equivalency.

      EXPERIENCE

      • 5 – 7 years' experience in insurance with at least 5 years in Personal Lines Auto underwriting.
