Job Description
- Req#: 9868
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Manage monthly banking reporting requirements.
- Prepare weekly Borrowing Base (BBC) reports.
- Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Partner with operations teams to ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost of goods sold reporting.
- Monitor internal controls and support the implementation of best practices.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.
- Prepare audit schedules and documentation for external audits and tax filings.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and support financial system upgrades or implementations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation (or equivalent) required.
- Experience with companies in the retail sector
- Minimum 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in retail or consumer goods.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and inventory accounting.
- Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Dynamics AX).
- Experience with Asset Based Lending is an asset.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong financial analysis capabilities.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical mindset, and communication skills.
