  Primary Function

  Every sales associate is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of his or her shift, within company policy, in such a manner as to ensure that the shift contributes to the increased profitability of the store. The term "sales associate" applies to the positions of 1st, 2nd and 3rd-shift employee, both full and part time.

  Duties/Responsibilities

  
  

  Creating the Amazing Customer Experience:

  • Acknowledge customers as soon as they enter the store
  • Make eye contact, smile, offer assistance
  • Gives all customers prompt and courteous service.
  • Refer to customers by name if you know them
  • Protect the ‘Crosby’s’ brand by preparing in store prepared fresh food and made to order fresh food in full compliance to Crosby’s recipes, specifications and standards
  • Engage customers through friendly conversation
  • Supports the growth of our loyalty program ‘My Crosby’s Rewards’ by advising customers of benefits of enrollment and assisting customer in enrollment process
  • Actively promote the use of ‘My Crosby’s Rewards' loyalty program
  • Advise customers of Crosby’s specials using up suggestive selling technics
  • Thank each and every customer

  Essential Functions

  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, and reach for long periods of time
  • Be able to perform arithmetical calculations at the eight-grade level in order to be able to make change, count monies, complete shift reports, and account for numbers of a variety of products during vendor check-in;
  • Have sufficient visual acuity to check identification
  • Be able to read and understand instructions for operating lottery, point of sale systems and other equipment;
  • Be able to lift up to 40 pounds, carrying cases of milk cartons and soft drinks, beer and juice containers, etc, at least once per shift;
  • Be able to react to a fire by lifting a fire extinguisher weighing 40 pounds and moving it to the fire area;
  • Be able to tolerate exposure to gasoline fumes and cleaning products;
  • Be able to enter and work in a cooler with a temperature of 34 degrees up to 60 minutes at a time.

  Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 18 years of age preferred
  • Experience Preferred
  • Valid NYS Drivers license preferred
