      This key member of the 17th Circuit Court’s Leadership Team is responsible for the day to day operation of the service areas of the 17th Circuit Court, including but not limited to; adjudication of civil, criminal, domestic, juvenile and/or traffic matters; provision of supervision and services to adult and/or juvenile offenders; case flow management; information management and systems; training and development for Court personnel; development and implementation of standard operating policies, procedures and practices for the Court; and monitoring compliance with SCAO requirements.

      A crucial piece to the success of the Deputy Court Administrator is their ability to provide excellent leadership to approximately 200 professional and support staff and assist with the preparation of a $45 million operating budget. The position reports directly to the Court Administrator and assumes the administration of the Court when required.

      This position regularly interacts with Law Enforcement, Prosecutor’s Office, Probation Officers, Attorneys, funding units, and Judges.Requires a Juris Doctor or Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Court Administration or related field combined with four years of progressively experience in the management of legal, judicial, or related services. An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.

      Requires extensive knowledge of the juvenile justice system. Must demonstrate proven experience in the areas of budgeting, human services, community coordination and collaboration, performance measurement, and leadership.
