      Overview

      The Director, Strategic Planning plays a key role in advancing UF Health’s strategic agenda across assigned markets. This individual is responsible for identifying and evaluating growth opportunities, leading market-level strategic planning, and ensuring execution of key initiatives aligned with enterprise priorities.

      This role partners closely with market leadership, system strategy, finance, and College of Medicine stakeholders to drive informed decision-making, support organizational growth, and enhance overall market performance.


      Responsibilities

      • Identify and evaluate market growth opportunities through analysis of market data, competitive dynamics, and industry trends
      • Assess and support development of new ventures, partnerships, and strategic initiatives
      • Lead development and execution of market-level strategic plans aligned with system priorities
      • Manage local strategy engagements, including partnerships, facility optimization, and key initiatives
      • Support mergers and acquisitions activity, including reintegration planning in collaboration with Finance and System Strategy
      • Own market-level strategic planning processes, including goal setting, performance tracking, and leadership communication
      • Develop financial targets and performance metrics in partnership with Finance
      • Monitor performance of strategic initiatives, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
      • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to track execution and outcomes
      • Prepare and present strategic updates and performance reports to senior leadership
      • Foster strong relationships with Market Presidents, functional leaders, and College of Medicine partners
      • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive activity to inform strategy
      • Lead, mentor, and develop team members, ensuring alignment and delivery of key initiatives

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree required

      Experience

      • 5–7+ years of progressive experience in strategy, management consulting, healthcare strategy, corporate development, or related field
      • Experience leading strategic initiatives from concept through execution
      • Demonstrated success evaluating and executing growth opportunities, partnerships, or M&A activity
      • Strong experience in strategic planning, performance management, and executive-level reporting
      • Knowledge of healthcare market dynamics, regulatory environment, and financial drivers
      • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders
      • Prior people leadership experience, including coaching and team development
