      The Opportunity:

      We are seeking an experienced Director of Coding to lead and oversee coding operations supporting pediatric and pediatric surgical specialties. This role provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure coding accuracy, compliance, and performance across a complex pediatric care environment. The Director will partner closely with clinical, revenue cycle, and operational leaders while maintaining a strong on‑site presence to support collaboration and execution.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Provide strategic and operational leadership for coding functions supporting pediatric and pediatric surgical services
      • Ensure compliance with all applicable coding guidelines, regulatory requirements, and payer rules
      • Oversee coding quality, productivity, and audit outcomes; implement corrective action plans as needed
      • Lead, mentor, and develop coding leadership and staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
      • Partner with clinical, revenue cycle, compliance, and operational stakeholders to support accurate charge capture and optimized reimbursement
      • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to coding accuracy, timeliness, and denial prevention
      • Support system initiatives, workflow optimization, and technology enhancements related to coding operations
      • Maintain an on‑site presence (up to 50%) to support operational effectiveness, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership

      Required Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
      • Extensive experience in pediatric coding, including pediatric surgical specialties (required)
      • Progressive leadership experience in coding operations, including people management
      • Strong knowledge of ICD‑10‑CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS, and pediatric‑specific coding guidelines
      • Proven experience driving coding quality, compliance, and operational performance
      • Ability to partner effectively with executive, clinical, and operational leaders

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Professional coding certification(s) (e.g., CCS, CPC, RHIA, RHIT)
      • Experience leading coding operations within a large, complex pediatric healthcare environment
      • Background supporting hybrid or on‑site operational models
