      Position Summary

      The primary focus for the DIRECTOR OF DIGITAL EXPERIENCE is optimizing the value proposition of key web applications and websites through the development of tailored digital experiences for prioritized personas. The DIRECTOR OF DIGITAL EXPERIENCE studies and evaluates how users feel about websites and line of business systems (LOBs), considering ease of use, perception of the value of the system, utility, efficiency in performing tasks, etc., to translate user needs and business requirements into features and functionality that may be used for key strategically relevant web application/website/responsive design/mobile experiences. Working through staff or directly, The DIRECTOR OF DIGITAL EXPERIENCE, develops process flows, wireframes, and prototypes to effectively conceptualize and communicate high-level design strategies to senior leadership for consideration.

      Job Responsibilities

      • Define and develop key personas for the Education, Research and Clinical missions.
      • Catalog Weill Cornell websites and select application related digital experiences for each persona and create corresponding customer journey maps for prioritized experiences.
      • Work with ITS, administration, and mission stakeholders to explore experience informed opportunities for improvement and present to senior ITS leadership for evaluation and prioritization.
      • Develop recommendations for website enhancements and the development of new experiences considering ease of use, perception of the value of the system, utility, efficiency in performing tasks.
      • Develop mockups and wireframe designs to convey proposed concepts to drive better use and adoption of products and services for use by mission personas.
      • Work in cross functional ITS teams to describe a proposed product solution, define the optimal technology and data architecture
      • Identify any barriers to entry and explore various possibilities to develop a solution that appropriately balances technical, security and experiential requirements to offer the highest value propositions for key personas.
      • Working with the PMO team, develop project plans to build MPVs for products and services.
      • Working with the PMO team, develop bi-weekly agile cycles to continually develop the portfolio of prioritized products.
      • Work with the application development team to develop build plans and maintenance plans for products.
      • Work with the training team develop adequate training resources for products and services.

      Education

      • Bachelor's Degree

    Experience

    • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field, or equivalent work experience.

    • Fifteen or more years of business experience, ideally in healthcare or biomedical science, financial or information or IT management — recently at or near the senior director level. Broad experience within the healthcare and or academia is desired.

    • Ten or more years of progressive leadership experience in leading design, custom application development, web site development or mobile application development teams and enterprise-wide programs, operating and influencing effectively across the organization and within complex contexts.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Leadership skills, with the ability to develop and communicate personas, customer journeys, user experience and interface design options, proposed product options, technical specifications, technical challenges and solution options.
    • Leadership skills, with demonstrated experience in leading direct reports
    • Has experience with various project management methods such as Agile, Waterfall, Lean Six Sigma process improvement, PDSA performance improvement.
    • Ability to develop staff including coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
    • The ability to describe business use cases/outcomes, data sources and management concepts, and analytical approaches/options.

    Working Conditions/Physical Demands

    • Position requires working in an office environment where few physical discomforts such as dust, dirt, noise, and the like are present. A hybrid work arrangement is also possible. Ability to work off-hours and weekends for go-lives, testing, and emergencies, as well as light travel between office locations, primarily within NYC is required. Some travel to Ithaca, Doha, and other partner locations is also expected. Occasional meetings or clinical staff interactions in typical patient care areas may be required though direct patient exposure is not expected.
