Responsibilities Director, HIM and Medical Records Dover Behavioral Health System is a mental health facility located in Dover, DE. Our treatment center provides mental health and addiction treatment services to individuals from Delaware, Maryland, and most other states throughout the US. Dover Behavioral Health System has an exciting Director position within our Health Information Management Department. The selected candidate will be responsible for the overall leadership, administration, coordination and evaluation of the HIM and Medical Records functions for the Hospital. Key Responsibilities include: Maintain medical records of patients in accordance with federal and state legal requirements and The Joint Commission standards Supervise the activities of the HIM Department, including overseeing the chart audit and clinical pertinence functions Responsible for the daily operation of the Health Information Department Participate in Performance Improvement functions for the hospital and perform monthly physician reports to analyze the timeliness of certain medical documentation to include the discharge summary, psychiatric evaluation, and history and physical’ Profile the physician and submit to the Medical Staff credentialing file Serve as the facility Privacy Officer and is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the facility’s privacy policies and procedures regarding the use and disclosure of Protected Health Information (PHI) and for compliance with the HIPAA Privacy Rule; Conduct investigations and partner with the corporate Privacy Officer on all suspected breaches and reporting obligations and collect all documentation relating to suspected breaches at the facility Qualifications Minimum: Associates Degree in Health Information Management from an Accredited Medical Record Technology Program certified by the American Health Information Management Association Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) Two years’ experience as Director/Manager in a Behavioral Health Medical Records/HIM setting Preferred: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) Benefits: Monday - Friday work schedule Competitive Compensation Outstanding Benefit Program including medical, dental, vision 401K with company match and stock options 100% company paid life insurance Educational Reimbursement and Seminar funds Excellent Paid Time Off Program - Earn 24 days off each year!
