PSA BDP serves over 5,000 customers, including some of the world's leading multinational companies within the chemical, retail & consumer, life sciences & pharmaceuticals, and electric vehicle & industrial verticals.
The Director of Solutions is specific to the North American Domestic offerings and plays a critical leadership role within the Client Relations & Solutions Department. This position is responsible for the strategic direction, planning, and management of PSA BDP Surface’s complete suite of technology offerings—including Transportation Management Systems, Real-Time Transportation Visibility Platform (RTTVP), Freight Payment systems, rate and carrier pricing tools, and Business Intelligence platform —as well as other key logistics technologies and software.
The role focuses on product leadership, vendor management, road-mapping, customer experience design, and cross-platform alignment. It includes oversight of a team of Product Owners responsible for day-to-day platform management and enhancement delivery. The Director also supports strategic client solutioning, pre-sales initiatives, pricing strategy, and cross-functional collaboration with account management, operations, IT, and business intelligence.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Product Strategy & Road Mapping
• Own the multi-year roadmap across PSA BDP Surface’s logistics technology platforms.
• Develop product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategies to align with market needs and business goals.
• Define strategic enhancements based on client feedback, internal priorities, and competitive insights.
• Guide platform standardization and scalable configuration frameworks for both internal and external use.Vendor & Platform Management
• Lead third-party vendor partnerships, including selection, onboarding, contract review, renewal negotiation, invoicing, and performance monitoring.
• Review all contracts and invoices to ensure alignment with platform usage, licensing terms, and budget expectations.
• Serve as the primary liaison between PSA BDP Surface and technology vendors to ensure timely delivery of product enhancements, issue resolution, and roadmap alignment.
• Oversee SLA adherence, coordinate escalation paths for system issues, and manage vendor compliance with PSA BDP security and integration standards.
• Monitor usage metrics, conduct quarterly business reviews (QBRs), and continuously evaluate vendor value and return on investment.
• Ensure vendors meet evolving client needs and PSA BDP's long-term technology goals through clear communication and regular alignment sessions.
• Provide functional leadership across a broader technology stack, including:TMS System, RTTVP, Business intelligence tools, Freight payment systems, Customer & Carrier Portals, Rate Management & Carrier Pricing Systems, Carrier safety & compliance software, Integration & Middleware Platforms, and ERP & WMS integrations
Backlog & Enhancement Management
• Oversee backlog and enhancement processes across all platforms (TMS, RTTVP, Business Intelligence, Freight Payment, rate management and carrier pricing systems), ensuring internal requests and client-driven needs are documented, scoped, and prioritized.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, IT, and business stakeholders to define backlog items and align them to sprint planning cycles.
• Participate in Sprint Prioritization meetings and facilitate communication between stakeholders and vendors for upcoming development sprints.
• Monitor enhancement request rankings and advocate for prioritization with vendors when critical to client timelines or business goals.
• Ensure backlog documentation includes acceptance criteria, business context, and impact analysis to support efficient delivery.
• Support post-sprint reporting, including communication of delivered enhancements and performance tracking.Customer Experience & Platform Oversight
• Define the ideal customer experience across all platforms and ensure alignment with UX/UI standards, onboarding, and training processes.
• Guide enhancement prioritization through platform usage data, stakeholder input, and business intelligence.
• Develop repeatable, scalable platform implementation strategies with the support of Product Owners and IT.Pre-Sales Support & Solutions Engineering
• Collaborate with Business Development and Account Management teams to support pre-sales solutioning, including system design, pricing input, demo delivery, and SOW contributions.
• Represent PSA BDP Surface capabilities in client meetings, RFP responses, and product Q&A sessions.
• Ensure that proposed solutions are technically feasible, scalable, and aligned with platform direction.Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Manage and mentor Product Owners aligned to key systems and platforms.
• Promote a product-first, customer-centric mindset across platform teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to align delivery models and technical solutions.Critical Skills:
• Deep understanding of end-to-end supply chain execution (plan, source, make, deliver, return, service) with emphasis on logistics technology
• Strong product management experience, including road mapping, go-to-market strategy, and pricing frameworks
• Familiarity with major vendors in the supply chain technology space
• Extensive experience managing platform vendors and third-party logistics systems
• Strong background in EDI/API integration and cloud-based software configuration
• Ability to translate complex technical requirements into scalable product enhancements
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• High degree of analytical thinking and decision-making using data, user feedback, and performance metrics
• Experience supporting sales opportunities and leading solution demos for clients
• Excellent organization, multitasking, and leadership in fast-paced environmentsJob Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Information Systems, or Business; Master’s or PMP adds value to the role
• Minimum 7+ years of experience in logistics technology, product management, or logistics or transportation systems leadership
• Previous experience at a 3PL or 4PL logistics provider or logistics technology company is a strong plus
• Experience managing or implementing platforms such as TMS systems, business intelligence systems, and carrier pricing and freight audit/payment systems
• Proficiency with project management programs, reporting, and CRM platforms
