- Responsible for communicating and promoting the product value proposition to Distribution organization.
- Ensures product team delivers sales support to all distribution channels (e.g., .com, mobile, contact center) so that the product is accurately positioned to customers (sales tool and collateral development, sales training, etc.).
- Develops new product or sales offerings and enhanced features/services to existing offerings
- Leads research, analysis and evaluates performance metrics to drive recommendations for market opportunities or product improvements
- Uses resources to gather data and member information to support formulation of product strategy and acquire competitive intelligence.
- Partners with appropriate collaborators to develop communications for product and pricing strategies to key stakeholders and committees within the respective line of business and the enterprise.
- Builds and is responsible for a team of employees for assigned functional area through ongoing execution of recruiting, development, retention, coaching and support, performance management, and managerial activities.
- Interprets performance results to advise product or sales forecast and planning.
- Identifies and handles existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.
- Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.
- Follows written risk and compliance policies, standards, and procedures for business activities.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Statistics, or related discipline; OR 4+ years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- 8+ years of relevant industry experience in Actuary, Underwriting, Marketing, Distribution or Sales/Service or Finance/Accounting Operations or Financial Services.
- 4+ years of product management, or similar strategic management experience (similar experience includes direct support in managing product performance).
- 3+ years of direct team lead or management experience.
- 3+ years of Data Visualization experience (i.e. Tableau).
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations (i.e. FDIC, CFPB, OCC).
- Experience Owning, Forecasting, and Managing a Product P&L .
- Experienced in market research to build product roadmap, make product decisions and iterate rapidly.
- Expert knowledge of applicable product related regulations and, risk and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of federal laws, rules, and regulations to include: TILA/REG Z, SCRA/MLA (given our demographic), Reg B, FCRA, UDAAP.
- Experience managing budgets, third party partnerships and rewards P&L
- Experience managing and launching Shop with Points partnerships, contracts and new business development
- Managing Rewards business and program at other financial institutions
- Experience managing end to end business and program, setting strategy, translating customer experience and business needs as well as considering competitive landscape
- Experience with building customer facing products, benefits and features, partnering with digital and technology partners
- 5+ years experience direct management of a team
- Collaborative and innovative, experience driving change
- US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner

We are looking for a Director, Product Management for our Credit Card space. Manages a team of individual contributors setting strategy and providing direction, leadership and budgetary management. Development of product plans, strategies and tactics while coordinating with the broader Credit Cards team. Compile, analyze and interpret data to make strategic and tactical recommendations or decisions pertaining to sales/product performance. Responsible for defining the business questions and providing insights to improve business performance. Supports the maintenance of existing products and/or may lead in the development and launch of less complex, new products with channel partners.
Play a critical role in defining and executing on the overall program strategy for USAA Rewards, deliver value to members, with easy to use rewards redemptions and drive customer engagement.
Act as a primary liaison to Card products and collaborators. Support the evolution of USAA Rewards strategy through both internal analysis of performance and competitive assessment crafting repeatable processes to identify, communicate and act on emerging loyalty trends. Handle comprehensive customer communication strategy for the program including overseeing Rewards communications, Terms and Conditions, FAQs, emails and letters ensuring adherence to overall program positioning as well as legal and regulatory requirements. Assume leadership role in cross-organization collaboration with partners levering USAA Rewards platform to support their product strategy and efforts. Manage program budget, business cases, external party contract and relationship. Ensure governance of the program as first line of defense and work with second and third line partners.
This position is a hybrid work type and can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX; Plano, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Charlotte, NC; Colorado Springs, CO or Tampa, FL. Hybrid roles help employees gain the best of both worlds – collaborating in-person in the office and working from home when needed to achieve focused results. However, remote (with occasional business travel) may be considered.

What we offer:
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $132,500 - $253,220.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
