What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review, audit, test, and remediate Word and PDF documents for WCAG 2.1 AA compliance
- Correct and validate document styles, headings, reading/navigation order, lists, links, tables, alt text, and form fields
- Ensure compatibility of remediated documents with assistive technologies such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency and compliance in document accessibility
- Maintain accurate tracking of remediation activities for assigned documents/forms
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 7-12 years of hands-on experience in document accessibility testing and remediation
- 3+ years of WCAG 2.1 remediation experience in Microsoft Word and PDF documents
- Proficiency in using accessibility testing tools such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and Acrobat Accessibility Checker
- Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1 AA, Section 508, ADA, and WCAG2ICT standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong documentation abilities
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working with court forms, legal documents, or judicial orders
- Familiarity with user-centered design principles for accessible content
- Knowledge of remediation workflows in large-scale government environments
- Certifications such as IAAP - Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) or Accessible Document Specialist (ADS)
