Job Description
The employee will be part of R&D organization working within Danfoss India Innovation Center (DIIC), Pune. The incumbent will report to Manager – Digital Solutions, Solutions & IP CoE. The incumbent will perform IP search & analytics to support research team in creation, validation, protection, and monetization of IPR’s generated by various business segments of Danfoss. The incumbent will have the ability to work independently with cross-functional teams to drive results.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: • Quickly understand the product/technologies related to mechanical domain, especially products related to Hydraulics / Refrigeration & Air Conditioning / Power Electronics & Drives etc., • Ability to read huge volume of patents and non-patent literatures and communicate complex technologies/ concepts in an easy-to-understand way to business stakeholders. • Ready to conduct various prior art studies (Landscapes, patentability, Freedom-to-Operate, patent validity/invalidity assessments) using open and specialized patent and literature databases. • Perform various other types of patent analyses viz. claim mapping, portfolio analysis, whitespace analysis etc. • Responsible for conducting patent landscape/watch analysis, identifying the trend of the competitors and/or emerging technologies, and developing IP strategy to protect & commercialize key technologies. • Interface with cross-functional engineering business units to gather technical information related to an invention disclosure and assist legal teams in assessing the patentability of the inventions. • Working knowledge in creating competitive and technology intelligence reports which includes technology, market, and IP perspectives. • Develop expertise in hydraulics business verticals and contribute novel ideas in key programs of the respective verticals. • Collaborate with global experts, external partners and extended teams to enable technology development
Background & Skills
The ideal candidate possesses these skills: • B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical & Electronics Engineering 3-4 years’ experience in patent analysis (post B.E./B.Tech) or 2-3 years’ experience in patent analysis (post M.E./M.Tech) Ability/Readiness to work on multi-domain projects. • Solid experience in problem solving. • Networking skills. • Able to become a technical authority. • Strong technical knowhow and logical mindset. • Team player. • Positive and open minded. • Persistent. • Effective communication skills. • Able to read and understand drawings and technical documentation.
