- Provides client support for a template, decision tree, and room assignment management:
- Fulfills schedule change requests quickly and accurately, consistently seeking opportunities to utilize best practice strategies and techniques:
- Identifies and completes necessary modifications to master and daily templates, and decision tree build to meet client requests
- Consistently meets or exceeds Service Level standards when resolving requests.
- Independently carries out project work and meets all project deadlines.
- Participates in the development and implementation of the design of daily schedules, templates and Epic decision trees that enhance patient access and scheduling workflows.

Documents and revises technical and operational standards, functionality, workflow, and other system requirements.

Analyzes available reports and data to proactively identify areas for client improvement on measures of access and capacity and makes recommendations to Cadence Optimization Team Lead and department leadership
- Represents CAS as the Epic Subject Matter Expert in large-scale access projects implemented across the ambulatory enterprise, impacting over 269 practices at multiple locations across MGH.
- Serves as an ambassador for the Center for Ambulatory Services when meeting with clients to discuss and implement schedule changes.
- Performs that role of a business analyst working with enterprise technical teams to determine the appropriateness of change requests in the system on behalf of MGH/MGPO including: Visit Types, Referrals, and other changes to the system as requested
- Completes all required training as needed to maintain the appropriate template builder access in Epic and to meet requirements of the work as dictated by department leadership
- Participates in other responsibilities, projects, committees and meetings as assigned.
- Understands and applies knowledge of medical practice operations, scheduling and the specifics of Epic and Cadence functionality

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Able to communicate technical information in lay terms.

Experience with Epic, computer software including CRM systems, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS Word required. Experience with MS Access (or other database tools), MS Visio, SharePoint, and other hospital information systems a plus.
- Highly collaborative and dynamic work environment with cubicle-type workspace near the MGH main campus in Boston

May be required to travel off-site to other Partners facilities to attend meetings and trainings and to Epic corporate location in Madison, Wisconsin for training

!*!GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
The MGH/MGPO Center for Ambulatory Services supports strategic operations of the Massachusetts General Hospital and the Massachusetts General Physician Organization to improve service to patients and referring providers seeking care at our organization. Within the operations of our Center, we provide technical services that support a variety of applications used by medical practices across the Hospital.
The Application Specialist, working under the functional guidance of the Team Lead carries out daily schedule, template, Decision Tree, and master schedule requests for Center for Ambulatory Services clients. Using industry-standard best practices and successfully leveraging business tools, the Application Specialist will engage with our clients to accelerate access and productivity-related improvements and to improve the overall provider and patient experience.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare management, public health or related field preferred
Epic Certification desired
EXPERIENCE:
Must have 2-5 years related healthcare experience, including experience with healthcare clinical and/or revenue cycle systems; experience in a large medical academic setting preferred. Experience managing provider schedules is a plus.
