- Lead the Maintenance Team: Supervise, train, and develop a team of equipment engineering and maintenance technicians (electrical, mechanical, and facilities) to drive proactive preventive maintenance but also ensure rapid response and high-quality repairs as needed.
- A key priority is the aptitude and mentality to ensure full understanding of the function of all key equipment so that maintenance and control can be founded on detailed understanding of the equipment design and the way the machines are supposed to work.
- Minimize Downtime: Develop, implement, and manage a best-in-class Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) program for all critical MV/HV production equipment and facility infrastructure.
- Monitoring and Maintenance System Management: Utilize a Monitoring and Maintenance System to schedule work orders, track equipment history, manage spare parts inventory, and analyze equipment performance metrics (e.g., OEE, Mean Time Between Failure - MTBF).
- High-Voltage Focus: Possess or rapidly develop specialized knowledge to oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of complex electrical systems, including high-voltage testing bays, transformer winding machinery, and automated controls (PLCs, SCADA).
- Capital Planning: Collaborate with Engineering and Finance on long-term capital expenditure planning for equipment upgrades, replacements, and new machinery installations to support manufacturing growth.
- In collaboration will Purchasing manage Supplier relationships, contracts, and service agreements for specialized maintenance, parts sourcing, and technical support.
- Cost Control: Develop and manage the maintenance department budget, continuously seeking opportunities to reduce maintenance costs without sacrificing equipment reliability or safety.
- HSE Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment operations adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and relevant MV/HV safety standards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all equipment maintenance logs, inspections, certifications, and safety audits.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical (preferred) or Electrical Engineering, or a technical degree combined with extensive maintenance management experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in industrial maintenance management, with at least 3 years directly overseeing complex, heavy machinery in a manufacturing environment.
- This is a full-time on-site function.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems found in industrial production environments.
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation to understand the workings of all equipment in the factory is essential.
- Specific experience with the maintenance and troubleshooting of Medium/High Voltage power equipment and controls is highly desirable.
- Skills: Demonstrated ability to implement continuous improvement and Lean maintenance principles. Excellent root cause analysis (RCA) and problem-solving skills for complex equipment failures.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., CMRP, Reliability Engineering) are a strong plus.
Equipment Engineering Manager - Energy Systems Manufacturing (Houston, TX)
This critical role is responsible for the overall reliability, uptime, and maintenance of all complex manufacturing and facility equipment, with a specialized focus on Medium and High Voltage (MV/HV) production machinery (e.g., winding machines, vacuum pressure impregnation equipment, high-capacity cranes, and testing apparatus). The Equipment and Maintenance Manager must ensure world-class asset management to ensure that machines are performing within tight target tolerance levels, minimize downtime and support aggressive production schedules.
This role reports to the Plant Manager.

Salary Range (annual): $85,000 - $100,000 . Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package.
