      The IBM Semiconductor Research team is looking for a compact modeler to work on the development, extraction, Q/A and automation of ESD compact models. This is an exciting new position working on compact modeling of ESD devices in 2nm and below technologies. This position will have broad interactions spanning across the Enablement team, Technology development team and our ecosystem of partners.
      1. Define ESD device topologies and equation sets, creating behavioral models which can be linked into Spectre or HSPICE
      2. Define extraction methodologies to extract ESD model parameters
      3. Define software requirements/needs for extracting ESD compact model parameters
      4. Define Q/A requirements to quality check ESD device models before releasing in PDK
      5. Define software requirements/needs for executing Q/A requirements automatically on ESD devices before being release in PDK
      6. Work with ESD device engineers on acquiring data from lab and screening data before using for modeling, both inline and offline tester data.
      7. Extract and release ESD compact models as needed in PDK releases
      8. Continuously improve quality of model equations, extraction and Q/A checking of ESD device models along with associated software infrastructure.
      • 3+ years of ESD device, ESD compact modeling and/or base device/passives compact modeling
      • 3+ years of semiconductor device data analysis/characterization working with inline and/or offline labs
      • Software experience in one or more of the following: SAS, R-coding, Keysight MBP, Synopsys HSPICE, Cadence Spectre, Python.
      • Education: Phd EE with specialty in device physics area
