- Lead and develop a small team of SmartPak Finance professionals.
- Drive annual budget process for SmartPak, including coordinating with all major stakeholders to ensure that SmartPak is delivering against its growth, margin, and cash flow plans.
- Coordinate and lead monthly forecasting process, analyzing actual results vs. plans, reporting results to Management, and performing ad-hoc financial analysis, as required.
- Responsible for all SmartPak financial management reporting (flash metrics, product level P&Ls, monthly operating review, QBRs, etc.).
- Analyze the company’s promotional and marketing expenditures for effectiveness and return.
- Work directly with SmartPak and Covetrus senior leadership teams to support critical financial and strategic initiatives at SmartPak, including detailed operational plans.
- Partner with Operations to drive increased rigor and analytical insights in forecasting / budgeting process.
- Additional ad-hoc assignments and projects supporting departments across the organization including longer-term business plan development, benchmarking, and process analysis.
- Analyze the company’s business practices, including Operations and Consumer marketing, and identify/explore opportunities for improvement in financial productivity and processes.
- Assist in the further development of financial dashboard reporting, and financial planning and analysis reporting, as needed.
- Provide financial updates to project status reports, showing budget, forecast and actual financials.
- Work with Management to develop and refine business case assessments across the business to support project and capital spending decisions.
- Develop reports for defined projects that estimate capital payback periods and rates of return.
- Ability to interface with SmartPak and Covetrus senior leader teams.
- 5-10+ years’ experience in Financial Modeling, FP&A, Operational Finance.
- Experience with complex consumer products and manufacturing businesses.
- Ability to partner and communicate all levels of the organization.
- Ability to adapt to changing business needs and requirements in a rapidly changing market.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience leading, motivating, developing, and retaining team members.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field.
- Advanced degree such as MBA or related field is preferred.
- Commutable distance to Plymouth, MA.
- Commitment to be on site for a minimum of 4-days per week.
We are looking for a passionate, intellectually curious, and operationally minded Finance Director for this dynamic business, who will be responsible for providing finance leadership for the SmartPak organization, working with both the SmartPak and Covetrus Senior leadership teams to establish short and long-term goals, financial and KPI objectives, and value creation plans and to help the business achieve robust growth and margin targets. The Finance Director, SmartPak will provide financial support and leadership to management to ensure that SmartPak is delivering against its growth, margin, and cash flow plan and executing with operational rigor across both categories - “Health” (Supplements) and “TES” (Tack and Equipment) - to effectively optimize and grow SmartPak. The Finance Director will have strong business partnership, communication, and collaboration skills.
Summary
The Finance Director, SmartPak role is responsible for overseeing the finance organization at SmartPak. This role is critical and will work directly with both the SmartPak and Covetrus Senior leadership teams to support ongoing reporting and financial analysis, and to drive strategic initiatives forward.Responsibilities
