      As a Financial Analyst at ENMAX, you’ll partner with business leaders to turn financial information into clear insights and recommendations that support day-to-day decisions and long-term planning. You’ll lead monthly budget-to-actual analysis and forecasting, develop and maintain cost models for investment approvals and business cases, and produce accurate , timely reports that explain performance drivers. You’ll also complete the financial transactions and controls required to support your assigned functional areas.

      Major Responsibilities:

      • Independently manage highly complex financial processes for their client groups including the development of budgets and forecasts, monitoring the actual versus budget amounts, and leading cross functional projects with minimal oversight

      • Create, run and maintain business area financial allocation models including intricate “what if” scenarios for future business planning decisions

      • Partnering with the business unit to streamline and automate processes

      • Provide assurance that business unit financial statements align with business activities and are in accordance with accounting policies

      • Using expert-level judgement to interpret results of business unit reporting to develop qualitative explanations to help influence broader organizational decisions

      • Assist in the preparation and submission of all responsible areas OM&A and Capital budgets

      • Provide, explain and present complex financial information to assigned business areas and the broader organization

      • Provide fixed asset accounting expertise in support of structuring and setup of project codes and interpret capitalization guidelines

      • Provide timely and accurate , periodic , and ad hoc reporting such as actual performance versus planned / forecast expectations and prior period performance including detailed variance explanations

      • Contribute to the identification and implementation of financial solutions that improve efficiency and effectiveness by eliminating, simplifying and automating processes

      Education Required:

      • University Degree in Business, Commerce, or equivalent with a specialization in Accounting/Finance

      • Professional designation as a CPA, CMA, CGA, CA or CFA

      Qualifications & Experience:

      • 8+ years of progressive financial analysis and accounting experience

      • Minimum 3 years of experience interpreting energy commodity prices and underlying market fundamentals to support business and risk management decisions

      • 4 + years of operational finance experience directly within the power generation, large industrial, or broader energy sector with e xpert-level financial analysis experience

      • Superior understanding of IFRS as applied to long-lived large-scale operational assets

      • Experience serving as primary financial point of contact for high priority external relationships

      • Demonstrate d ability to translate complex financial data, commodity risk positions, and large capital program updates into clear, audience-appropriate narratives and presentations

      • Hands-on experience evaluating and executing the accounting treatment for power purchase agreements (PPAs), long-term service contracts, and large-scale commodity contracts

      • E xtensive background supporting P&L own ership, including margin analysis, outage tracking, capital budgeting, and major maintenance decision support for large industrial, energy, or generation assets

      • Proven experience applying financial impacts of North American energy market structures, including capacity markets, energy markets, and ancillary markets

      Salary: Analyst D (Current CUPE 20 2 5 rates)

      $115,556.35 - $122,777.38 - $129,998.41 - $137,219.45 - $144,440.48

      Location : 141 - 50th Avenue SE , Calgary, AB

      Location: This role will be part of our hybrid work model that includes Core Days in office (Tuesdays, Wednesday, Thursdays), and more time to focus on Mondays and Fridays, either in the office or at home. The office workspace is located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB).
