- Meet couriers to receive samples from nationwide and international locations and initiate the tracking process.
- Verify the arrival of all samples, inspect for damage, dispose of packaging, and prepare samples for entry.
- Operate multiple computer software systems, remembering which apply to different samples.
- Ensure sample names match requisitions.
- Handle various sample types, primarily urine, with some blood, serum, plasma, and body fluids.
- Create labels and label samples after system entry.
- Occasionally aliquot samples, centrifuge, or freeze them for stabilization.
- Manage workflow and maintenance of samples in walk-in refrigerators and freezers after specified periods.
- High School Diploma
- Intermediate skills in computer usage, typing, and 10-key operations.
- Capability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- No previous lab experience required; open to candidates from various backgrounds such as banking, serving, and customer service.

Job Description
As an accessioner, you will not be directly involved in testing but will be responsible for receiving incoming samples, logging them into the computer system, and preparing them for laboratory analysis. Post-analytical duties include managing sample storage and disposal. This position is an excellent opportunity for those looking to start or grow a career in a laboratory setting.

Work Environment
Work in a fast-paced, production-type environment as a specimen accessioner, playing a vital role in medical laboratory science. The team manages between 5,000 to 11,000 samples daily. On-the-job training is provided. This role includes opportunities for career progression and offers benefits such as vacation pay and holidays. Positions available on 2nd shift, 5 pm-1:30 am, Tuesday-Saturday.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Saint Paul, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.52 - $19.52/hr.
