      Overview of the Role

      Reporting to the Plant Supervisor, the General Plant Help (GPH) is responsible for the efficient and accurate operation of all cheese equipment. The GPH is expected to maintain excellent communication lines with supervision, production planner, maintenance, warehouse, and line personnel.

      How you will make contributions that matter:

      • Effective set-up, running and adjustments of equipment.
      • Process cheese into required packaging while ensuring the line is properly supplied and routine quality checks are performed to meet required product specifications (e.g.: weight, dimension)
      • Accurate completion of all required documents and sanitation procedures
      • Setup, takedown and sanitation of all parts and equipment when required, as per standard operating procedures.
      • Meet or exceed daily production efficiency requirements provided by Supervisor or Production Manager
      • Strict adherence to recipe and blend instructions for process cheese.
      • Ensuring strict adherence to food safety policies (HACCP, CFIA, GMP, BRC)
      • Strict compliance to workplace health and safety policies (WHMIS, OH&S, WCB, and Company procedures)
      • Other duties as required.

      You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

      • Although we cannot guarantee 40 hours per week, we offer a consistent and steady schedule every week. Schedule is set and posted every Thursday for the week ahead.
      • Able to work flexible hours with availability for all three shifts (24 hours); 8 hours per day; 3 – 5 days per week.
      • Food/dairy/manufacturing experience an asset.
      • Accuracy, attention to detail, and good communication skills.
      • Physical ability to perform job duties, including heavy lifting of up to 20 lbs.
      • Strong hand-eye coordination and ability to multi-task.
      • Team player but can also work independently.
      • Excellent attendance record.

      Other Requirements:

      The candidate will show initiative. They will demonstrate creativity and self-motivation. They must be able to work independently and must have the capacity to multitask.
