      In Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Citi primarily operates as an institutional bank, known as our Institutional Clients Group (ICG). ICG primarily serves four types of clients: multinational corporates, financial institutions (including large institutional investors), the public sector and the largest local companies. ICG’s primary business lines are Corporate & Investment Banking, Markets & Securities Services, Treasury & Trade Solutions and Citi Private Bank.

      Team/Function Overview

      Enterprise Services & Public Affairs (ESPA) is responsible for enhancing and protecting Citi’s reputation around the world. In EMEA, ESPA includes four key disciplines: external communications, employee engagement and communication, institutional branding and community development. The regional head of each of these disciplines sits in London and is responsible for oversight of that discipline both within the London hub, and for the region as a whole.

      Citi has an on-the-ground presence in 55 countries throughout EMEA, and ESPA has individuals or teams based in 27 of those countries. ESPA’s EMEA hub is located in London, Citi’s regional headquarters.

      Role / Position Overview

      The Head of Corporate Campaigns is responsible for telling creative stories that bring to life our purpose and support our commercial plans in the diverse EMEA region. Through our regional leaders you will articulate our position on key themes such as the value of our global banking network, our ESG agenda, technology capabilities and you will demonstrate that Citi is a progressive place to work in Financial Services.

      You will also be responsible for working with the Head of Communications & Engagement to tell stories that support our growth ambitions in the UK, Middle East & Africa, strategic European markets as well as our Hub Managed Countries . You will also play a key role in supporting our Government Affairs agenda across the region by landing strategic coverage that supports our lobbying efforts.

      This is an external role and your focus will be on the media and our owned channels such as LinkedIN. It will involve active engagement with a wide range of senior leaders from around the EMEA region and colleagues across the globe. You will need the experience and gravitas to influence senior banking and ESPA colleagues.

      All activity is aligned to our global communications priorities and this role is a vital bridge between colleagues in New York and the region.

      Key Responsibilities:

      Content Strategy

      • Deliver regional press coverage that brings to life who we are and what makes us different
      • Work with colleagues in the market to identify stories and work with local teams to amplify them across a variety of earned media and owned channels
      • Support the Head of Communications & Engagement to deliver the regional CEO communications plan
      • Support the Head of Communications & Engagement to tell stories that support our growth ambitions in the UK, Middle East & Africa and strategic European markets as well as our Hub Managed Countries
      • Play a key role in supporting our Government Affairs agenda across the region by landing strategic coverage that supports our lobbying efforts.
      • Work with the broader Communications team to set up a best-in-class Citi EMEA press office which supports colleagues in the region
      • Centrally manage and curate corporate messaging for use across entire ESPA team
      • Write and distribute news announcements, briefing notes and internal announcements as required
      • Support the planning work that takes place across ESPA in EMEA
      • Line manage more junior colleagues

      The successful candidate will join a team focussed on a comprehensive communications and employee engagement strategy for a global organisation in one of its key regions, encompassing on-the-ground operations in 55 countries and with more than 40,000 employees. Employee & Media engagement is a key strategic focus of senior management at Citi, and high-quality, meaningful content is critical to influencing our audiences and stakeholders. This is a strategic role that will involve active engagement with a wide range of senior leaders from around the EMEA region and colleagues across the globe.

      Criteria/Qualifications

      • A creative leader who wants to work collaboratively with colleagues to succeed together
      • An outstanding writer who can simplify complex stories and make them newsworthy to different audiences
      • Someone who enjoys building relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels and meeting new people
      • Ability to influence at all levels & to work as part of a team
      • Understanding of large businesses and a willingness to travel
      • Experience in Financial Services is not an pre-requisite but an interest in the sector and desire to learn about it is

      Knowledge/Experience:

      • 10 years’ experience of corporate PR and media relations, either agency or in-house
      • Gravitas to influence senior bankers and ESPA colleagues in the region

      Experience working on tight deadlines and in a busy environment

      • Ability to work as part of a team and juggle competing priorities.

      • Ability to write clearly and concisely

      • Presentation skills
      • Social media knowledge and skills
      • Attention to detail
      • Excellent organisations skills: ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

      Qualifications:

      Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations required, or equivalent Communications educational experience preferred
