- Lead the completion of credit stress tests and forecasts for the Group, identifying financial impacts and trends through detailed investigation of key credit metrics.
- Complete country-specific ICAAP and other stress tests to meet local regulatory requirements
- Lead internal working group of subject matter experts performing stress tests across different risk classes
- Maintain a transparent and robust process for the inclusion of feedback to/ from stakeholders into the delivery or ratification of credit forecasts and stress tests
- Develop plans and methodologies to complete stress tests for emerging risk types, such as climate risk for APRA and international regulators
- Establish and lead trusted relationships with a range of stakeholders across Group Risk, Group Treasury, Finance, ANZ Research and Divisions
- Advise senior management and committees on the outcomes and implications of credit stress tests and forecasts
- Manage team to ensure continuous engagement, learning and development
- Contribute to internal projects and external industry working groups
- Shape longer-term strategic plan to meet ANZ’s future stress testing and forecasting needs
- Analytical and long-term strategic mindset
- Experience leading teams and fostering a team culture of learning, growth and excellence
- Knowledge of credit metric methodologies
- Ability to form close working relationships with a variety of business and technical stakeholders and influence/ negotiate with these.
- An ability to organize and maintain delivery to regulatory or stakeholder deadlines.
- Being comfortable dealing with new areas of risk, and challenging current practices and assumptions
- Tertiary qualifications in finance/ economics/ mathematics/ statistics or relevant experience in Risk, Data Analytics, or Finance/ Treasury disciplines.

It is key to informing the level of capital ANZ needs to weather unanticipated risks or events. It’s also important in providing insights on rapidly evolving risk areas such as climate risk.
Stress Testing & Forecasting resides in the Enterprise Risk team within the Risk Metrics & Measurement function. You will play a key leadership role in managing a dynamic team to drive the efficiency, consistency and accuracy of stress tests and credit metric forecasts for the ANZ Group, meeting Risk, regulatory and divisional needs.
The role requires pro-active and regular collaboration with a diverse range of Risk, Treasury and Finance stakeholders to ensure a transparent, consistent and comprehensive approach to stress testing and forecasting. It requires an ability to identify issues and opportunities for improvement or simplification, and to think of how things might be done differently. We will require your strong thought leadership in the strategic planning for our future stress testing and forecasting needs, including consideration of future models and platforms, and how we will handle new sources of data for stress testing including climate or ESG data.Role Location: Melbourne preferred
