- Run and support clinics on the wings and in healthcare! Clinics are a crucial part of our service, and include bloods, ECGs, wound care, health promotion and NHS Health Checks
- Support the nurses on duty with all aspects of care
- Second sign in pharmacy and support pharmacy staff as needed, including on medication rounds
- Respond to emergencies as needed alongside the nurse on duty
- Although working mainly in primary care, you will also gain experience in mental health and substance misuse

- Hold a Care Certificate and/or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care
- Have experience within a care setting - we would love to hear from you if you have experience in the community, care home, hospitals etc
- Any clinical experience would be a bonus - venepuncture, wound care, observations etc

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the team at HMP Garth, a high security Category B male prison located in Leyland. HMP Garth has capacity of around 792, and houses men serving long term and indeterminate sentences.
In this crucial role, you will work within the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), made up of primary care, substance misuse and mental health. Although your focus will be primary care, you will gain experience across all pathways. This is a great role in which you really can make a difference whilst growing your own skills - we are happy to support and train you in venepuncture, ECGs, wound care etc - we just need you to have a passion for delivering exceptional care! You will be fully supported and learn skills to grow your career!Hours
This position is full time working 37.5 hours per week on a rota basis. The rota is:
Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday Week 2 - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Shifts are 07:30 - 19:45 We have an 8 week rota, and 2 of those weeks are night shifts, working the same as above, but 19:45 - 07:30.Salary
You will receive an annual salary of between £25,557 - £29,723 per annum depending on experience.
Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks
