      Job summary

      An exciting opportunity has arisen to support the development of Epilepsy services for children and young people in Shropshire Telford and Wrekin.

      The post holder will work closely with the ICS transformation partner for CYP Epilepsy to help meet the deliverables of the National Bundle of Care for CYP with Epilepsy as well as lead on the delivery of Education Health and Support Plans for children with Epilepsy in Shropshire Telford and Wrekin.

      This role will be based within the ICS and work across the communities of the ICS taking a strategic role in the implementation of epilepsy improvements. They will develop partnerships across the ICS both vertically through healthcare and horizontally with other arm's length bodies. They will liaise with education authorities and special schools to identify training and support needs and work with social services and public health bodies to improve messaging and support for school nurses, health visitors, social workers, CYP with epilepsy and their families.

      Main duties of the job

      • Provision of clinical leadership in relation to the transformation of epilepsy care and support for children and young people.
      • Work collaboratively with system partners to formalise pathways and identify gaps and challenges to delivery.
      • Clinical lead on implementation of national epilepsy improvement toolkits, considering the voice of children and young people and their parent / carers.
      • Integrate Personalised Care approaches to the design and improvement of services.
      • Contribute to improvement of health information on EHCP's for children and young people living with Epilepsy and SEN.

      About us

      The post holder will establish relationships through primary, secondary and tertiary care to ensure high quality of care throughout the system. The post holder will help to identify areas where epilepsy outcomes are poorest and establish the reasons for this, working with teams to improve understanding of Epilepsy.

      Through this pilot the post holder will connect with other ICS lead practitioners to share knowledge, learning and best practice.
