      We are looking to recruit an Associate (0-4PQE) into our fantastic top-tier Construction Disputes team in Manchester.

      About the Role

      The highly ranked ICE Disputes Team at CMS is instructed on high value domestic and international matters. Our Construction team in the North is now rated in the top tier of the Legal 500. As trusted advisors to numerous international companies, and with parts of the team based in Madrid, Dubai and Singapore, our ICE Disputes offering provides local expertise with a global perspective.
      We help our clients face the future across every sector. Our expertise includes infrastructure, engineering, utilities, waste, transport, energy, renewables, healthcare and private developments. We act for major institutional investors, the public sector, contractors, insurers and all tiers of PPP contracts.

      As part of the team, you will be:
      - supporting partners within the ICE Disputes team and working closely with colleagues across the UK and in particular, Sheffield and Manchester;
      - working closely with CMS’ top ranked Projects, Energy and Real Estate groups, acting on major projects across the UK and internationally;
      - acting for clients at all levels and entry points in these sectors – including contractors, developers, new market entrants, investors and all parts of the supply chain;
      - working on construction and engineering disputes in adjudication, arbitration and litigation;
      - actively involved in the team’s business development initiatives.

      About You

      This is a great opportunity for enthusiastic and driven candidates to quickly gain experience and take on responsibility. The role will involve working closely with a variety of partners, associates and trainees in the ICE Disputes team and a wide range of other colleagues from across the firm.

      The ideal candidates will:
      - have solid experience in contentious construction disputes work;
      - have experience acting in adjudications, court and arbitrations;
      - be skilled in project management;
      - be forward thinking with legal tech and what it can offer;
      - be proactive; and
      - be enthusiastic about developing our business and serving our clients.
