- Uses knowledge of instructional systems design and development of modules to analyze, design, develop, and produce learning solutions using a variety of media including CBT/WBT programming, video and sound production, webinar production, and classroom technology. Designs and develops program content and program flow; writes scripts, develops storyboards to produce multimedia
- Uses knowledge of instructional systems design to design interactive lessons in a classroom environment, employing a variety of learning compression techniques (e.g., accelerated learning, participant centered learning, etc.) to improve the classroom experience.
- Define requirements, evaluation methods and feedback requirements to produce webinars and computerized testing, E-Learning modules, highly interactive classroom learning modules, suggestions for technology insertion in the classroom.
- Serves as a consultant to resident instructors and technical experts to help them improve the student experience by employing different approaches to instruction.
- Researches and makes recommendations on educational best practices, instructional resources, instructional technologies and multimedia hardware/software to support teaching and learning.
- Performs tasks to ensure training development projects are completed by established deadlines.
- Develop media-rich e-Learning modules and simulations using: Photoshop, Lectora, Rise, Storyline, Audition, Captivate, Camtasia, AR/VR (or other multi-media solutions). Produce webinars using WebEx or other emerging webinar platforms (e.g., Teams). Assess emerging learning technologies such as classroom apps for use at PPL. Where appropriate, develop standards and guidance for tools.
- Works with PPL's equivalent of an LMS to create and track courses.
- All positions in which driving is an essential function of the job, regardless if the job code is marked safety sensitive or not, will also be included as safety sensitive.
- May be assigned an Electric Utilities emergency and storm role. This is a special assignment that comes into play during storms and other emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to other issues affecting customer service. This role may necessitate the need to work after-hours, outside of your normal schedule.
- The company reserves the right to determine if this position will be assigned to work on-site, remotely, or a combination of both. Assigned work location may change. In the case of remote work, physical presence in the office/on-site may be required to engage in face-to-face interaction and coordination of work among direct reports and co-workers.

- Consults with and advises department management on the effective use instructional approaches to meet training objectives. Serves as a consultant to resident instructors and technical experts to help them improve the student experience by employing different approaches to instruction.
- Researches and makes recommendations on educational best practices, instructional resources, instructional technologies and multimedia hardware/software to support teaching and learning.
- Using project management expertise, to lead projects, organize and prioritize workflow, follow-up on tasks and action items, and performs tasks to ensure training development projects are completed by established deadlines.
- Develop media-rich e-Learning modules and simulations using: Photoshop, Lectora, Rise, Storyline, Audition, Captivate, Camtasia, AR/VR (or other multi-media solutions). - Bachelor's degree or, in lieu of degree, 3 to 5 years’ experience in instructional design and course development will be considered.
- 2 years of experience in instructional design and course development.
- Knowledge of the adult and online learning principles.
- Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Flexible with technology and can learn new software and systems quickly and be adaptable to new methods.
- Self-starter, innovative and creative, excellent verbal, and written communication skills..
- Knowledge of programming e-learning with one or more e-learning programming tools
- A degree in instructional design, education, technology, or related field.
- Experience with a CBT/WBT tool and an LMS.
- A multimedia and e-learning portfolio.
- 5 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 3 years' experience with a Master Degree in instructional design or related field.
- Experience in instructional design and course development
- Knowledge of the adult and online learning principles.
- Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Flexible with technology and can learn new software and systems quickly and be adaptable to new methods.
- Self-starter, innovative and creative, excellent verbal, and written communication skills.
- Significant knowledge of programming e-learning with one or more e-learning programming tools,
- A Master's degree in instructional design or related field.
- Experience with Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop, Lectora and Captivate.
- A multimedia and e-learning portfolio.
