      Duties


      • You will provide thorough assessment, non-medical counseling, and consultation services to clients who present for care with substance use risk factors and/or disorders.
      • You will coordinate with community referral resources in the development of specific treatment programs.
      • You will interview individuals and family members to explore and analyze factors influencing personality development and family structure in relation to the development of symptomatic behavior patterns and complicated interpersonal problems.
      • You will analyze and evaluates the information obtained and makes use of other social and medical consultation resources as required.
      • You will make referral to other social or medical resources, as appropriate.
      • You will perform various administrative duties in support of services provided, i.e., conducts seminars and training programs for facility, installation, and community health-care providers and staff, leaders, and peer professional assigned.
      • You will provide continuing support and treatment to clients and families.

      Requirements

      • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

      • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
      • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
      • You will be required to possess a Substance Abuse Certification required through passing a proctored exam, from a state or nationally accredited certifying body.
      • You must meet credentialing and privileging requirements in accordance with SECNAVIST 1754.8 and MCO 5300.17A.
      • You must meet degree and licensure requirements for privileging at the independent practitioner level, tier II or tier III in accordance with SECNAVIST 1754.8.
      • You must consent to a criminal history background investigation.
      • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

      Qualifications


      In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing substance abuse treatment or counseling services, case management, assessment and referral.

      This position is a TIER TWO clinical care practitioner. Applicants must meet all of the following requirements as outlined in SECNAVINST 1754.8:

      1. Possess at least a masters or doctoral degree in one of the following disciplines:

      a. Master's degree from a program accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP) or an equivalent degree,

      OR

      b. Master's degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) or an equivalent degree,

      OR

      c. Master's degree in Social Work from a graduate school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) or an equivalent degree,

      OR

      d. Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited university or professional school and a one-year APA accredited clinical internship

      2. State or U.S. territory license or certification that provides legal authority to provide clinical services as an independent practitioner in the fields of Licensed Professional Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Social Work, Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology.

      3. When the state or U.S. territory licensing or certification requirements include a written examination, candidates for privileging, must have achieved a passing score on that examination.

      4. Must have engaged in two years, full-time, post-masters supervised clinical experience.

      OR

      This position is a TIER THREE clinical care practitioner with clinical supervisor eligibility. Applicants must meet all of the following requirements as outlined in SECNAVINST 1754.8:

      1.Possess at least a masters or doctoral degree in one of the following disciplines:

      a. Master's degree from a program accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP) or an equivalent degree,

      OR

      b. Master's degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) or an equivalent degree,

      OR

      c. Master's degree in Social Work from a graduate school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) or an equivalent degree,

      OR

      d.
