      The Cycle Counter is responsible for monitoring warehouse inventory and performing cycle counting duties to ensure that all material is properly verified to be reflective of reported inventory. Duties also include miscellaneous activities to maintain inventory accuracy through proper processing of materials receipts, transfers, and issues. The Cycle Counter will work closely with the Inventory Control Specialist, will analyze inventory discrepancies and conduct scheduled and unscheduled cycle counts.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities

      The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

      • Ensure the integrity of the physical count of the in-house inventory via cycle counting & inventory control program.
      • Cycle counts the warehouse a minimum of four times a year, including all pick and reserve slots for discrepancies and product/packaging integrity issues.
      • Performs quality checks around date sensitive, slow-moving and obsolete items via interaction with Merchandising.
      • Research causes of weight variances, receiving/put away/letdown issues, and damaged product in the slots from warehouse moves.
      • Proactively checks First-in First-out (FIFO) items for proper rotation.
      • Confirm reserves are properly recorded and verify the count of each reserve pallet.
      • Verify the put-away and transfer process performed by team members.
      • Counts and reconciles randomly chosen or chosen part numbers and/or locations on a daily basis.
      • Verification of products in pick location or back stock.
      • Assists in developing solutions to shortages, overages and inventory discrepancies.
      • Complies, verifies, and reports findings or any inventory variances to the Inventory Control Specialist and Warehouse Manager.
      • Ensures compliance to inventory processes and procedures.
      • Participate in general inventories within the fulfillment department and remote locations.
      • Complies with all Witmer Public Safety Group Policies and Procedures.
      • Performs any other duties or projects assigned by the management team.

      When: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM includes a one-hour unpaid lunch.

      • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
      • Previous inventory control or cycle counts experience is preferred.
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office (excel, word, outlook).
      • Solid problem-solving skills.
      • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
      • Ability to work in a warehouse with fluctuating temperatures, especially warmer seasons.
      • Must be able reach overhead and at the waist to ground level repeatedly.
      • Push and pull various boxes and totes to count items.
      • Lift and carry items to remove them from pick lines and take inventory.
      • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
      • Must be able to pass forklift training and occasionally operate a forklift.

      While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and arms to push, pull, reach, and carry; in addition to regularly being required to stand for 8-10 hours per day, talk and listen. The employee is frequently required to walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
