      This is a G Band Investments role. This role will focus primarily on underwriting Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLOs), including thorough analysis of structure and deal documentation.

      The Nationwide Investments Structured Products Team is a dedicated group of experienced investment professionals focused on delivering superior investment results to our clients. This begins with our people and values which emphasize a positive culture and team dynamic that facilitate optimal relative value decision-making. As a key contributor to the Structured Products team’s efforts, the Investment Professional will focus primarily on supporting research, trading and portfolio management activities related to primarily investment grade Asset-Backed Securities (ABS), Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS), Residential Mortgage-Backed Security (RMBS), and/or Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO), etc. across various fixed income portfolios.

      Job Description

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Support Portfolio Manager in research, trading and portfolio management activities.

      • Collaborate with the portfolio manager in the identification of executable and suitable market opportunities.

      • Support transaction analysis including participants, collateral, borrower, structure, deal documents and relative value scenario analysis.

      • Assist in portfolio surveillance including identification of emerging investment risks, and development and implementation of successful risk mitigation actions.

      • Portfolio performance attribution analysis.

      • Perform ad-hoc projects, reporting and analysis as requested.

      • Collaborate with other departments regarding relative value, sector analysis, asset class dynamics and portfolio.

      • Drives the creation of streamlined reporting and portfolio reports as needed.

      • Leads data management and maintenance.

      May perform other duties as assigned

      Reporting Relationships: Asset Class Senior Investment Professional

      Typical Skills and Experiences:

      Education: Bachelor’s Degree; Advanced degree and/or CFA desirable

      Experience: 6 to 10 years of investment experience

      Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

      • Solid understanding of fixed income and financial concepts

      • Understanding of economics and capital markets

      • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities

      • High energy, positive attitude, collaborative and team oriented

      • Composed and decisive under pressure or when challenged

      • Driven, self-motivated, and intellectually inquisitive

      • Creative, organized, responsive, and detail oriented

      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

      • Able to build constructive and effective relationships

      • Demonstrates leadership in the investment decision making process

      Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

      Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.

      Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Some travel may be required.
