      Overview

      A professional family in Harrison, NY is seeking a temporary part-time nanny who has cooking skills to begin ASAP, with the possibility of the role transitioning into a long-term structure in September. At the start of this position, the family's daughter will be 21 months old. The child will begin daycare in September, at which time the schedule and responsibilities will adjust.

      Both parents have demanding careers and are seeking a highly reliable, warm, and consistent professional who can commit long-term and provide stability. This is a live-out position. The family prefers candidates who live within approximately 20 minutes of Harrison.

      Now through mid-May (temporary position, with potential for long-term):Monday through Friday, 2:00pm – 5:30pm (approximately 20 hours per week)

      2:00pm – 3:00pm: Adult meal preparation and cooking, while the child naps

      Additionally, ideally three weekend days per month for 3–3.5 hours each.

      During this phase, responsibilities focus primarily on toddler care, enrichment activities, and consistency.

      The start of the permanent position will follow the above schedule, beginning in mid-May and continuing until September.

      Starting September (Fall Structure):Monday through Friday, 2pm – 6:30pm (approximately 22–23 hours per week)

      2:00pm – 3:00pm: Adult meal preparation and cooking3:00pm – 6:30pm: Daycare pickup and toddler care

      The family is willing to adjust the schedule for an exceptional candidate.

      Responsibilities

      • Primary care for a 21-month-old toddler
      • Engaging in age-appropriate play, enrichment, and outings (library programs, music classes, etc.)
      • Daycare pickup beginning in September, driving the family vehicle when on duty
      • Preparing full adult meals (not just light prep)
      • Adult and toddler meal preparation
      • Light child-related tidying and organization
      • Child laundry
      • Maintaining a warm, playful, and engaging tone

      Qualifications

      • Extremely reliable and punctual
      • Warm, intuitive, playful, and engaging with toddlers
      • Confident and experienced with children under age 2
      • Consistent in tone and demeanor
      • Comfortable receiving feedback
      • Enjoys cooking and feels confident preparing full meals
      • Safe, experienced driver
      • Able to commit long-term
      • The family values warmth and responsiveness. They have observed that tone and engagement style significantly impact their daughter’s comfort and development. They are seeking someone naturally nurturing and attentive.

      Requirements

      • Minimum 5 years of professional childcare experience
      • Demonstrated toddler experience
      • CPR and First Aid Certified
      • Valid driver’s license with a strong driving record
      • Comfortable using a family vehicle while on duty
      • Strong professional references
      • Must be able to meal prep and cook dinners for the family
      • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
      • Candidates with dependent minor children must have reliable backup care in place to ensure consistency and minimal call-outs.

      Salary and Benefits

      • $38–$40 per hour, depending on candidate qualifications
