- Lead visioning, blueprinting, and design of K-5 assessments across content areas.
- Develop item specifications, rubrics, scoring guides, and assessment frameworks.
- Review and provide quality assurance on assessment drafts.
- Ensure alignment to state standards and instructional best practices.
- Serve as MGT's assessment expert in meetings with clients.
- Provide clear, compelling rationale for assessment design decisions and communicate complex concepts to non-specialists.
- Build strong client relationships through collaborative planning, responsive communication, and content expertise.
- Provide guidance and feedback on assessments, in partnership with writers and content editors
- Offer guidance and informal mentorship to team members; no direct management responsibility required.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Educational Measurement, Psychology, Human Development, Learning Sciences, or a related field
- Six (6) or more years of experience in K-5 assessment design, educational measurement, curriculum/assessment development, or related roles
- Demonstrated expertise in designing custom (non-standardized) assessments for early grades
- Strong working knowledge of state academic standards and state assessment systems
- Experience developing assessment item types, rubrics, and blueprints for diagnostic and formative purposes
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide expert guidance
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight timelines
- Background as an assessment or curriculum manager/director in a district, education consultancy, or curriculum/assessment company
- Experience working directly with K-5 teachers, instructional leaders, or district administrators
- Familiarity with assessment validity, reliability, and best-practice measurement principles (no psychometrics specialization required)
- Prior client-facing role or consulting experience

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
As the K-5 Assessment Specialist, you will serve as MGT's primary expert in K-5 assessment design, leading the development of high-quality diagnostic, formative, and instructional-aligned assessments. This is a client-facing role requiring strong content expertise, collaboration, and the ability to deliver under tight timelines.
