Developing tailored communication and knowledge mobilization plans for various initiatives and projects
Engaging knowledge users throughout the life cycle of projects and initiatives to identify knowledge needs and gaps, develop and implement plans in response, and iteratively improve tools and resources based on feedback
Developing and delivering creative knowledge mobilization products, tools and resources through a collaborative and iterative process. Includes general public, patient and healthcare provider-facing materials and resources, evidence-based reports, reports for funders, government and policy makers, training and educational materials, presentations and webinars and videos
Developing an in-depth understanding and interconnectedness of the team’s work, positioning and strategic objectives
Collaborating with the research team and Principal Investigator to plan and implement knowledge mobilization initiatives using various platforms: social media, print, digital print, video, ebulletin, workshops, and others
Developing key messages/reports/communication materials
Creating and maintaining material and resource repositories for various projects and initiatives
Maintaining up to date internal database of project activities and contact details of stakeholder groups for knowledge mobilization and communication
Maintaining regular communication and supports information and knowledge sharing with project stakeholders
Supporting Communities of Practices for internal and external stakeholders

Job Summary
The UBC Reproductive Infectious Diseases Research Program is a world-leading, interdisciplinary team dedicated to advancing reproductive infectious diseases care and research internationally. Through local, national and global research collaborations, the team works to address emergent knowledge gaps and provide evidence-based guidance for the prevention, treatment, and care of reproductive infectious diseases. We are based out of BC Women's Hospital + Health Centre, with support from the Women's Health Research Institute (WHRI) . We are looking for a Knowledge Mobilization Coordinator to join our team of researchers, trainees, research staff and patient partners.
You will work closely with the research team and Principal Investigator to drive the deliverables of a Pan-Canadian Syphilis in Pregnancy and Congenital Syphilis project. You will work at the interface between patient partners, and scientific, clinical and knowledge translation experts to create content and develop strategies that will enhance the uptake of clinical management practice guidelines to improve patient care.
Our ideal candidate is someone who can use KT theories and frameworks and evidence-based strategies to create compelling and insightful knowledge mobilization products, tools and resources.
Organizational Status
You will report to the Research Manager of the project and work closely with international clinicians, scientists and other partners.
Work Performed
Consequence of Error/Judgement
Accuracy, timeliness, and sound judgement are required to maximize the effectiveness of the Syphilis in Pregnancy and Congenital Syphilis project. The individual will need to exercise independent judgement, feel comfortable working with a large and diverse team, and conduct themselves in a professional and ethical manner at all times. Any errors may seriously impact the reputation of the Faculty and University, compromising research credibility, and jeopardize longstanding and newly formed partnerships critical for success.
Supervision Received
Required to work independently on a day-to-day basis according to broadly established guidelines. This position receives direction from the Research Manager and Principal Investigator with regards to their specific knowledge mobilization activities.
Supervision Given
The Knowledge Mobilization Coordinator is not responsible for the management of any staff; however, they may be required to formally train and orient new staff, students, and faculty.
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of a university degree in a relevant discipline or technical program and a minimum four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Some positions may require a graduate degree.

Preferred Qualifications
Graduate degree in a related discipline is preferred but project management, proficiency and experience in knowledge mobilization are most important.
Ability to generate and transform creative ideas into inspiring and compelling communications activities, materials and messaging.
Exceptional presentation, verbal and written communication skills to prepare a wide range of products and help stakeholders understand evidence/data.
Proficient computer skills including the ability to use various applications to build knowledge mobilization products and resources.
Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite of computer software, WordPress, SharePoint, and other applications.
Experience in creating videos and infographics considered an asset.
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to engage and work with diverse stakeholders including patient and family partners, healthcare providers, policy makers and government.
Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
Experience working with Indigenous people, communities, and Indigenous-focused health organizations; knowledge of principles and approaches to engage in research and knowledge mobilization with Indigenous people and groups
Demonstrated ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds, including community members and marginalized populations.
