Job summary
East Cheshire NHS Trust and Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are jointly creating a new electronic patient record (EPR), which is known locally as the Digital Clinical System (DCS). The DCS will replace current paper-based records with one comprehensive source of digital information that is available at multiple locations.
By giving our staff access to the right information, in the right place, at the right time, we will play a crucial role in supporting efficient and effective care, maintaining safety, improving patients' experiences, and meeting increasing demands.
The DCS is one of the largest projects ever undertaken by either of our organisations and it forms an integral part of a clinical transformation programme that will be enabled by digital technology.
The Lead DCS Pharmacist will support delivery of the Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (EPMA) element of the DCS programme in conjunction with the DCS project team and the pharmacy leadership teams in both organisations. They will be key to the successful development and launch of the system and following implementation, the role will continue to develop, implement, evaluate, monitor and support continuous improvements to the EPMA system. They will also have a leadership role in the Pharmacy Department, deputising for the Deputy Chief Pharmacist.

Main duties of the job
You will need to be inspirational and determined in your approach and be able influence healthcare professionals across the spectrum. We can offer you the opportunity to succeed in providing the highest standards of care for patients, developing your own professional career whilst also expanding your potential development towards a leadership role.

You will have a good background in clinical pharmacy and will use your skills already acquired to deliver high quality care to our patients.
You will possess relevant professional qualifications. Previous experience of electronic prescribing and medicines administration systems is essential. Previous experience in risk management and governance of medicines optimisation would be advantageous though not essential.
This post will focus on the delivery of EPMA, collaborating with senior pharmacy colleagues, the IT department and business intelligence and of course counterparts at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to ensure we achieve the highest standards.

About the company
National Health Service (NHS) is the umbrella term for the publicly-funded healthcare systems of the United Kingdom (UK). The founding principles were that services should be comprehensive, universal and free at the point of delivery—a health service based on clinical need, not ability to pay. Each service provides a comprehensive range of health services, free at the point of use for people ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom apart from dental treatment and optical care.
