      Job Description Summary

      System Design Technologies team operates within Advanced Technologies Operations, a group that matures the next generation of technologies and propulsion systems, which will enable the future of flights and dealing with advanced military and innovative engine architectures.

      The Aeromechanics Lead Engineer demonstrates leadership in applying and developing technologies and methods aimed at assessing the interactions between flow field and structures, to support a stable and low vibrations design for turbine components and systems.
      In this role you will utilize your engineering experience to solve problems, develop and execute objectives to affect short-term and long-term business goals, in the broad context of the aeromechanics for Low Pressure turbine domain, which includes Linear and non-linear forced response analysis, HCF margin evaluation, Linear and non-linear Flutter stability assessment, with the following purposes:

      • Support and execute aeromechanics analysis as needed by new product definition from its initial concept thru the full certification process.
      • Contribute to develop and advance the aeromechanics technology roadmap through New Technologies Introduction programs execution
      • Suggest and provide design solutions for the challenges related to aeromechanics.
      • Implement the guidelines/inputs received in order to improve/upgrade design processes from the aeromechanics analysis prospective.
      • Support field investigations related to aeromechanics discipline.
      • According to the field lesson learnt and innovative methodology developed, provide feedback to improve/align current Design Practices and methods.

      This role will give you the opportunity to grow your turbine systems knowledge, both in the design and experimental testing areas, as well as the opportunity to develop a specific expertise in the field of aeromechanics discipline, by improving your capability to understand the physics of relevant phenomena and solve complex exercises.

      Essential Responsibilities

      • Execute the analyses, tests or integration activities required to support assigned components, assemblies or systems design and validation in order to meet business standards and program / product requirements

      • Prepare and present technical data to reviewers, internal and external customers

      • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

      • Support the definition and execution of strategical technology development roadmap to support future product and grow the discipline improving tools and methods

      • Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business

      • Develop and implement training modules for new tool introduction and guide younger engineers in the execution of the activities

      • Remain current in the state of the art within own technical specialty for new products introduction activity, performance improvements, cost reductions and problem resolutions.

      Qualifications/Requirements

      • Master’s degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university.

      • Knowledge of key aeronautical engines layout, architecture and mechanical systems arrangements.

      • Experience in engineering positions with expertise on Structure Dynamics simulation techniques.

      • Fluency in English, both written and oral.

      • Work Visa, according to local regulation, is required
