      Nuke

Nuke®, NukeX® and Nuke Studio® offer cutting-edge toolkits for node-based compositing, editorial and review. The Nuke family's unparalleled flexibility and collaborative workflows help you get the highest quality results—fast.

      The Role

This role is an exciting opportunity to lead one of our Scrum teams, which is responsible for delivering small but must-have features, feature updates and maintenance to the Nuke product. You'll be responsible for the technical output and quality of a team comprising Software and QA Engineers, guiding them to work as a cohesive development and testing unit, as well as being their line manager.

To be successful in your role you’ll need good knowledge of the software development lifecycle. You’ll work closely with the team’s Product Owner to help define the deliverables and scope of the features for which your team is responsible, helping to identify and mitigate risks in advance. You’ll report your team’s development status to stakeholders, detailing progress, impediments and risks in a timely manner. You’ll also provide recommendations on go/no go decisions for releases affecting your team. You’ll liaise with third-party vendors, such as camera manufacturers, and customers to understand new requirements and solve or mitigate issues that arise with delivered features.

Using your technical skills and experience you’ll guide your team towards workable solutions, leading the breakdown and effort estimation of the work. You’ll also be responsible for ensuring that solutions are tested, validated and documented effectively by your team. As the person responsible for your team’s delivery, you should ensure that technical debt is flagged and resolved, and that targets and allocation of the team’s resources are in line with the expectations and prioritisation set by the Product Owner.

As a line manager and team leader, you'll need some management experience and working knowledge of Agile and Scrum. You'll ensure your team members’ career development and evaluate and manage performance. You’ll be resolving conflict or disagreement if it occurs, with support from an Engineering Manager. You'll ensure the team members are happy, motivated, and productive, and collaborate with your team to identify and implement organisation and process improvements if necessary. You’ll also be taking responsibility for hiring decisions in conjunction with the Engineering Manager.
