      The Role

      ANDRITZ Metals USA Inc is seeking Learner CNC Lathe Operator for our facility in Callery, PA. Under the direction of Plant Manager , the Learner CNC Lathe Operator is responsible to set up and operate a lathe in rough and finish operations on rolls etc.

      Requirements

      Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Key Result Items

      • Receives drawings, sketches, instructions, etc. from the foreman or assistant foreman.
      • Sets up the late from drawings, sketches, or instructions. Selects proper feeds and speeds. Selects and installs proper tooling.
      • Loads rolls into the lathe manually or with the aid of the floor operated overhead crane. Positions and aligns as required.
      • Operates lathe in rough turning also finish turning, treading boring tracing, etc.
      • Uses measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc. Checks pieces as required.
      • Unloads finished rolls manually or with the aid of the floor operated overhead crane.
      • Grinds tools, as required.
      • Reports defective material or faulty equipment to the foreman or assistant Forman.
      • Performs minor repairs and assists in major repairs as required.
      • Lubricates equipment and maintains machine and area in a clean and orderly manner.
      • Education and Experience
      • Highschool diploma or equivalent.

      Physical Capabilities

      Wear personal protective equipment most of the time

      A scend, descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs

      Work in confined spaces

      Work in proximity to loud equipment

      Lift and carry or otherwise move 25 50 80 pounds regularly/occasionally

      Respond quickly to sounds

      Safely climb ladders while carrying up to 40 pounds

      Remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time

      Inspect, measure products and equipment

      Use standard office equipment, move files, open filing cabinets and bend/stand as necessary

      Mental Capabilities
      Understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information

      Organize and prioritize own work schedule on short-term basis (longer than one month)

      Organize and prioritize work schedules of others on short-term basis

      Organize and prioritize work schedules of others on long-term basis

      Understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines

      Communicate with individuals, ability to hear & speak effectively on phone

      Complete routine forms, use existing form letters and/or routine oral communication
      Compose letters, outlines, and basic reports and/or to orally communicate technical information

      Add, subtract, multiply, divide and to record, balance, and check results for accuracy
      Compute, analyze, and interpret numerical data for reporting purposes
      Compute, analyze, interpret complex statistical data and/or to develop forecasts & models
