      Job Purpose

      The Legal Counsel East Europe plays an important role to contribute to the strategic objectives of the Business whilst ensuring an adequate risk exposure.

      Key Accountabilities:

      • Provide legal advice on to all businesses in East European Countries (predominantly Poland, Romania, the Baltics and Hungary);

      • Support the business with services that contribute to the realization of the Business’ strategic objectives;

      • Provide or coordinate legal advice or on Commercial / Contract Law, Competition Law, Regional M&A plus Administrative Law, as required.

      • Draft, review and negotiate major agreements (including sales, distribution and supply agreements);

      • Lead efforts to standardize legal and compliance matters in the East Europe region;

      • Manage outside counsel for the region;

      • Monitor legal developments in the East European market and communicate and act on relevant issues and developments; deliver education and training to Business.

      Job Requirements:

      • Lawyer trained in one of the jurisdictions in the region, with 5-8 years’ experience at an international law firm or a multi-national corporation;

      • Extensive experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements and legal documents;

      • Substantive knowledge in a broad range of legal disciplines, including dispute resolution experience, strong command of competition law principles, basic knowledge of general Intellectual Property principles, M&A, product liability and compliance matters.

      • High level of analytical, counselling, communication and interpersonal skills with sound legal, ethical and commercial judgment.

      • An effective negotiator and facilitator.

      • Ability to organize and provide hands-on legal service and the provision of an effective legal service through the management of others (internal and external counsel).

      • Excellent English language skills

      • Good command of Polish language is preferred, command of other languages in the region is a nice to have.
