      JOB SUMMARY

      This position performs maintenance on a wide variety of HVAC systems in schools and other facilities. Work includes performing preventative maintenance to HVAC systems, assisting Technicians with completing projects.

      DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

      This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

      ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

      • Performs preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment; performs scheduled maintenance.

      • Completes and maintains record of all work orders for required materials, supplies, and equipment.

      • Ensures compliance with and adherence to applicable codes, ordinances, and building and safety standards regarding heating and boiler system installations, maintenance, and repair activities.

      • Maintains inventory of filters, tools, and truck supplies.

      • Performs other duties as assigned.

      MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

      Graduation from high school. Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered. High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.Or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training that provides the required knowledge and abilities.

      KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

      • Knowledge of the standard safety practices using tools and equipment of the trade.

      • Good human relations and communications skills.

      • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

      • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

      • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other personnel and the public.

      CERTIFICATION, LICENSE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

      Possession of a valid Georgia Class D driver's license or equivalent. Ability to work overtime as needed.

      Salary/Terms/Benefits:

      1. 239 day work year; 8 hours per day
      2. Salary: Grade 113 - Placement on salary schedule based on years of experience. Up to ten (10) years allowed. The stated salary range reflects the opportunity for pay over the course of the employee’s tenure. The top pay is not a potential starting salary.
