      Purpose Statement

      • Lead the design, development and implementation of Credit portfolio take-up propensity and price elasticity modelling
      • Recommend strategic changes to credit policy using propensity-based decision analyses, at both the portfolio and segmented level
      • Lead with clarity regarding credit profit optimisation, pricing and propensity, as it relates to strategy, the monitoring thereof and recommending policy adjustments to align with strategic objectives.

      Experience

      Minimum:

      • At least 5 years’ proven experience is sales propensity / pricing elasticity modelling
      • At least 2 years’ people management experience
      • Experience in:
        • Drafting business plans, presenting and finalising strategies
        • Business analysis: Design and implementation of processes and procedures


      Ideal:

      At least 5 years’ proven experience in Credit within the financial services / retail banking industry
      At least 5 years’ experience in product costing, pricing and profitability measurement as well as related systems, processes and procedures in the financial services / retail banking

      Qualifications (Minimum)

      • Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational in Grade 12 National Certificate
      • A relevant post-graduate qualification in Accounting - Financial Accounting

      Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)

      • A Relevant Professional Qualification in Accounting - Financial Accounting

    Knowledge

    Minimum:

    • Database querying software (ex. SQL)
    • Statistical software (ex. SAS, R, Python)
    • Predictive analytics in the context of articulating business requirements
    • Building and developing effective teams
    • Business Analytics
    • Project management principles and methodologies (able to maintain continuity on multiple projects, time management, planning and organisational skills)


    Ideal:

    • Understanding of accounting, budgeting, costing, pricing and provisioning principles as applied in a bank
    • Income statement and balance sheet accounting transactions of a bank
    • Financial systems & procedures
    • Regulations pertaining to credit management
    • Credit management systems
    • Unsecured credit, including credit facilities and credit cards
    • General understanding of the Banks Act Capital Regulations, National Credit Act and the implication for Capitec business and the Credit Bureau
    • Strong credit industry knowledge
    • Business analysis experience on a banking system
    • Analytical experience on credit portfolio
    • Bank governance experience (ALCO, Riskco, Credit Committee, etc)
