      Lemuel Shattuck Hospital (LSH) seeks a strategic and dynamic professional to oversee and manage the implementation of Electronic Health Record (EHR) and other software applications within the hospital. This position is responsible for driving organizational change management to ensure the project teams align with the goals, vision, and mission of the Public Health Hospital System (PHHS).

      As a Project Manager, you will work closely with a project management team, reporting to the facility's Clinical Operations Officer. For large-scale projects including the EHR implementation, you will receive functional supervision from the Director of Hospital Technology & Systems Projects. Primary responsibilities of this role include leading and coordinating change management activities, developing facility-wide change management plans, and ensuring effective communication with various stakeholders.

      You will support and collaborate with the PHHS Director of Hospital Technology & Systems Projects, Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) IT and the Executive Office of Technology Services and Security (EOTSS), and vendors to implement recommended change management strategies. By focusing on helping hospital managers and staff embrace and utilize the changes in their day-to-day work, you will drive a culture of long-term change. Additionally, you will work with the hospital project team to analyze workflows and deliverables, ensuring optimal effectiveness and utilization of the EHR and other software applications.

      Please Note: This is a 37.5-hour position, Monday through Friday 8:30-4:30.

      Duties and Responsibilities (these are a general summary and not all-inclusive):

      · Lead and coordinate organizational change management activities, specifically related to software applications, including Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementation.

      · Develop and implement facility-wide change management plans for effective communication and expectation management throughout the project lifecycle.

      · Communicate consistently with hospital executive leadership, project teams, other managers, vendors, and stakeholders to analyze, plan, and support the EHR implementation.

      · Ensure compliance with the goals and vision of the Public Health Hospitals System for the overall project(s).

      · Collaborate with PHHS Director of Hospital Technology & Systems Projects, EOHHS IT/EOTSS, and vendors to implement recommended change management strategies.

      · Lead change management efforts with hospital managers and staff, focusing on engagement, adoption, and usage of software changes in their daily work.

      · Analyze the effectiveness of workflows and deliverables with the hospital project team and make necessary adjustments.

      · Foster long-term culture change to ensure full implementation and utilization of the EHR and other software applications.

      · Partner with EOHHS IT/EOTSS to ensure technical readiness at all project phases and provide accurate reporting to project governance.

      · Coordinate requests and deliverables, manage facility resources, and schedule hospital project teams' meetings to discuss decisions, risks, and issues.

      · Monitor and assess the impact of change on employees and collaborate with stakeholders to develop project management, change management, risk management, and training plans.

      · Evaluate the obstacles and successes of EHR change management initiatives, identifying usability shortfalls through testing, workflow analysis, and user feedback, and making recommendations for improvement throughout all project phases.


      Preferred Qualifications:

      · At least three (3) years of experience in health care or medical care operations.

      · Relevant certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) would be highly desirable, demonstrating a commitment to professional development and expertise in the field.

      · Experience leading change management efforts for large-scale software implementations, particularly Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.

      · Knowledge of healthcare industry practices, regulations, and trends related to EHR implementation and utilization.

      · Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including hospital executives and project teams.

      · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess workflows, identify barriers, and recommend improvements.

      · Experience in managing project resources, coordinating schedules, and ensuring project controls are in place.

      · Familiarity with technical aspects of software implementation, including integration, data migration, and system testing.

      · Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to deliver engaging and impactful presentations to diverse audiences.

      · Proven track record of driving cultural change within an organization, promoting user adoption, and achieving desired outcomes.

      · Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build positive relationships with cross-functional stakeholders.

      · Proficiency with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.

      Lemuel Shattuck Hospital is a fully Joint Commission accredited teaching facility that provides acute, subacute, and ambulatory care to patients referred by public agencies and private sector providers. Shattuck Hospital’s services help economically and socially disadvantaged patients to get high quality, cost-effective care from a staff that respects their dignity.

      Located in the heart of Boston’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood, the Shattuck Hospital includes 248 inpatient beds including 95 Psychiatric beds and 29 Correctional Health beds. In addition, the Shattuck has a full outpatient clinic with many specialties that offers treatment to patients of the Department of Mental Health as well as Department of Correction and House of Correction inmates and community patients. The Shattuck hospital is on the forefront of substance use disorder treatment including a Suboxone clinic serving 200 patients. In addition to direct medical services LSH hosts and supports an array of services located on the campus, serving patients struggling with addictions and homelessness.

      MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:

      Applicants must have at least (A) five (5) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, professional internship, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in business administration, business management, public administration, public management, clinical administration or clinical management or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below.

      Substitutions:

      I. A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
