- Development and operational oversight of The River District overall: Executive leadership of all operations, as well as all aspects of community operations and oversight in alignment with community’s experience principles and vision.
- Responsible for all horizontal development and operations and will coordinate with the Multifamily and Commercial teams to facilitate vertical development. Work with third party residential and commercial companies to sell identified parcels that will not be developed by Crescent.
- Executive leadership responsibility for sales and marketing functions for both private and public areas including new home sites, office, multifamily, retail community events, and related activities.
- Represent the company and serve as spokesperson with government leaders and residents. In partnership with marketing, manage public relations and all aspects of communications.
- Prepare and manage annual budgets and timelines for all aspects of operations to meet defined timelines and company financial goals. Effectively communicate business plan to board and C-Suite executives.
- Work collaboratively with River District sales and development teams, Crescent leadership groups, investors, and staff as well as other key stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with Crescent Finance Department in the preparation of economic analysis and operating results internal customers, senior executives and the Board of Managers.
- Manage and grow a high performing team – sales, marketing, operations, and support functions that fall under the Executive Director & General Manager for River District.
- 10 years of leadership, value creation, and operations of significant mixed-use master planned developments with numerous 3rd party residential and commercial programming and partnerships Demonstrated record of executive leadership and positive business results.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, marketing or related field. An MBA is a plus.
- Strategic thinking and operational expertise; ability to conceptualize and execute big picture vision and make long-range decisions while performing day-to-day management responsibilities.
- Financial acumen: ability to understand and develop business plans that deliver attractive returns and operating profits.
- Experience with marketing a master planned community is preferred.
- Proven background in executive leadership to include forming and sustaining high-performing teams, working with third party operators, presenting to external partners and working at the C-Suite level to influence outcomes.
- Self-starter with abundant initiative and drive for strong results.
- Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of individuals in oral and written fashion. Executive presence essential for success.
- Ability to relocate to and work full-time in the Charlotte, NC area.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

JOB SUMMARY
The River District will become one of the most impactful developments in the history of Charlotte. Comprised of 1,400 acres, located just minutes from the airport, this ambitious project will forever alter the landscape of the city and region. The River District offers a unique location that brings together the beauty of the Catawba River with convenient proximity to vibrant Uptown Charlotte, South End, Ballantyne and the airport. A diverse community with a full spectrum of residential and commercial offerings, where trails, riverways and innovative thinking converge, and make life at The River District truly boundless.
The River District officially broke ground in 2022 and is actively under construction. The project is currently entitled for the following uses:

The Executive Director and General Manager will have the primary responsibility for development and operations of the overall community. This includes all single family residential, amenities, multifamily, retail, office and environmental components of the community. This is a unique and rare opportunity to join the project in the early stages of development and influence the history of The River District for decades to come. The position will report directly to Crescent Communities’ President of Commercial.
