      Job Title: Mechanical EngineerJob Description

      We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 3-8 years of experience in designing HVAC systems for commercial, retail, residential, and institutional projects. The role involves project management responsibilities across various trades, with opportunities to transition into a project management role. The candidate should be comfortable participating in weekly calls and handling multiple mid-level projects.

      Responsibilities
      • Document calls for project status and manage tasks.
      • Assist in design phases from schematic to surveying, including expediting, DOB filing forums, and inspections.
      • Conduct site visits for surveying renovation projects and observe ongoing construction.
      • Manage the design process and coordination of plumbing, sprinkler, and fire alarm trades.
      • Familiarity with filing procedures is required.
      Essential Skills
      • Proficiency in HVAC engineering and mechanical design.
      • Experience in designing VRF systems, hydronic heating systems, ventilation systems, and air filtration systems.
      • Ability to design chiller plant systems.
      • Skill in writing due diligence reports and systems comparison analyses.
      • Ability to check design documents for trade coordination.
      Additional Skills & Qualifications
      • Experience with AUTOCAD and Revit is a plus.
      • EIT certification is required; PE certification is desirable.
      • Experience in designing systems for brownstones/townhomes, hospitality, educational, exhibits/parks, and apartments.
      • Administrative skills such as managing project fees, reviewing monthly billing, and writing performance notes.
      Work Environment

      Join a small, dynamic 8-person office located in Stamford, CT, within walking distance to the train station. The team works in-office five days a week, with the possibility of one remote day depending on the candidate. The role involves a variety of work with direct exposure to high-level management. Our team values work-life balance, maintaining a 35-40 hour workweek with minimal overtime.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $120000.00/yr.

      Company Size/Focus: Small, specialized firm with less than 10 employees focusing on sustainable design, including LEED and Passive House, P.A. Collins PE, Consulting Engineers. Work Environment: Small team setting allowing for direct involvement in various projects, providing significant learning opportunities regarding industry standards and codes,.
