      Fairview Range is hiring a Medical Lab Technician for Laboratory Services in Hibbing, MN.

      The Medical Lab Technician performs chemical, bacteriological, serological and microscopic procedures in one or more functional laboratory sections. The MLT also maintains records of performance as defined in the laboratory's general and sectional policy and procedure manual.

      Joining the hospital lab as a Medical Lab Technician means providing 24/7 support for Fairview Range Medical Center and the Fairview Mesaba Clinics. We are a CAP accredited, highly complex lab with a fully functional microbiology lab including molecular testing and have on-site pathology support. We’re proud to offer a collaboration with the M Health Fairview laboratory systems, which allows our patients local access to a more extensive array of lab services.

      Schedule: This position will be working 72-80 hours per two weeks, working 8-hour or 12-hour shifts. Shifts include Days, Evenings, Nights, and every other weekend.

      About Fairview Range Medical Center Lab

      • CAP accredited.
      • Lab consists of chemistry, urinalysis, hematology, coagulation, transfusion medicine including antibody identification, microbiology, histology, cytology, and pathology.
      • Part of multidisciplinary care team supporting each inpatient department.
      • Lab staff include MLS/MT, HT, MLT, and LCT as well as tech specialists in various lab sections.

      Medical Lab Technician Job Responsibilities

      • Performs testing and related activities according to established procedures in hematology/coagulation/Serology/UA blood bank transfusion, bacteriology, chemistry, special chemistry, LIS, phlebotomy and specimen processing.
      • Reviews all test results critically for extraordinary results, clerical errors, calls critical values, and documents action.
      • Maintains documentation of procedure performance, patient results, and quality control.

      Medical Lab Technician Job Qualifications

      Required Qualifications

      • Associates degree from a Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation accredited MLT program required.
      • Certification as MLT by ASCP or equivalent or needs to obtain certification within 1 year of hire date required.

      Preferred Qualifications

      Three or more years of experience in a clinical laboratory preferred
