      TGS provides scientific data and intelligence to companies active in the energy sector. In addition to a global, extensive and diverse energy data library, TGS offers specialized services such as advanced processing and analytics alongside cloud-based data applications and solutions.

      Key learnings from these internships concerning geoscience for renewables:

      • Gain insights from experienced Interpretation Geoscientists on interpreting cutting-edge Ultra High Resolution 3D data for wind development.
      • Understand the information requirements of wind developers regarding near-surface geology before installing wind turbines.
      • Explore the latest interpretation techniques for soil unitization and geo-hazard mapping from the seafloor to 100 meters below.
      • Work on a specific interpretation project with defined deliverables.
      • Learn from seasoned Interpretation Geoscientists about the CCS industry's need for high-quality data for initial baseline reservoir models and the application of MMV or 4D monitoring tools to verify CO2 plume conformity within a reservoir. Participate in technical work on a CCS reservoir project called the Elephant.

      key requirements and skillsets for this intern position:

      • Students who have completed the first half of their Master's program or have recently graduated with a Master's degree in Geology or Geophysics.
      • Basic experience with one or two interpretation software programs, preferably DUG or Kingdom, but not limited to these.
      • Have basic interpretation skills in horizon and fault picking.
      • Self-driven and motivated individuals who can tackle challenges independently before seeking assistance.
      • Ability to arrange housing within a practical commuting distance to either PGS Lysaker in Oslo or PGS Weybridge in London, with guidance available from PGS HR.
      • Availability to work during the summer months of June, July, and August, with specific dates to be discussed.

      Key Program Information:

      • Students will participate in engaging activities and collaborate closely with a dedicated Mentor and Buddy for guidance and support throughout the program.
      • The program spans 12–14 weeks during the summer months, offering flexibility within that range.
      • The majority of opportunities are based at one of our three locations: Houston, TX; Missouri City, TX; or the North Houston Data Center. Limited positions may be available at our global sites, including Oslo, Norway, and Weybridge, United Kingdom. Students interested in U.S.-based positions must be prepared to relocate independently to the Houston, TX area for the duration of the internship.
      • Students are required to arrange their own reliable transportation to and from the job site.


      The 2025 TGS Summer Internship is a 3–4 month, on-site program designed to provide a specialized project aligned with your skills and interests while offering opportunities to learn from our experienced leaders and colleagues.
