  Oceanside OB/GYN, an Axia Women’s Health care center, is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a group with an established patient following in a collaborative team environment. Oceanside OB/GYN providers have proudly served Cape May and Atlantic County for more than 30 years, offering patients compassionate specialty care in obstetrics and gynecology.

  This position is full time (32 hours/week). Can work 3 10/hour days per week or 4 8/hour days per week.

  • Locations in Atlantic and Cape May County New Jersey: Somers Point, Mays Landing, Galloway, Cape May Court House
  • 5 OB/GYN Physicians, 2 CNMs, 1 NP

  Position Summary:

  The Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner performs physical examinations, confers with patients in person and by phone/electronically, collaborates with others in the department to ensure a smooth flow of patient care consistent with established quality indicators and participates in the overall coordination of patient care. Other job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Practices under the standard procedure established for the WHNP role consistent with Company policy and in accordance with all legal requirements.
  • May perform IUD insertions and removals, Nexplanon insertions and removals, Colposcopies, Endometrial Biopsies, and Pessaries.
  • Conducts age appropriate assessments of patients, including history taking and physical examination consistent with department protocol.
  • Performs assessment/data collection in an on-going systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and cognitive status, patient/family education, family involvement, and patient advocacy.
  • Consults with supervising physician or other clinicians as dictated by patient need and assessment findings.
  • Participates with physicians and other clinicians in the department to assure effective patient care consistent with quality indicators for patients cared for in the designated service.
  • Reviews medical record for follow up or ordering of diagnostic studies under established protocols.
  • Establishes effective working relationships with members of the health care team, patients, and families.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and applies safety principles as identified by the practice.
  • Performs efficiently in emergency situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management in all aspects of patient care and unit functioning.
  • Demonstrates a service philosophy in all interactions with patients, families, and all members of the health care team.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers and telecommunication modalities to document, track and convey information.

  Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted New Jersey APN license, CDS & DEA.
  • At least 1 year Women's Health experience.
  • Ability to travel to satellite offices as scheduled.
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks (EMR) helpful but not required.
  • Eligible to participate in state programs including but not limited to Medicare and Medicaid.
